How are we to treat our church leaders? The biblical teaching is clear: we are to honor them.

An example is found in 2 Samuel 1. Saul was deficient as a leader of Israel, yet David showed respect for him and for his position, calling him “the Lord’s anointed” (2 Sam. 1:14-16).

Honor is an internal attitude of respect. It is expressed by appropriate actions; otherwise, it’s only lip service. Children show honor to their parents by obeying them. We honor God by doing the things that please Him. What, then, are some appropriate actions we should take to honor our church leaders?

1 Corinthians 5:1-2 &6

(1) It is actually reported that there is s*xual immorality among you, and such s*xual immorality as is not even named among the Gentiles—that a man has his father's wife! (2) And you are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he who has done this deed might be taken away from among you. (6) Your glorying is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump?

Did fornicator think that his singular actions were affecting the whole congregation? Not only did he not think so, but neither did the whole congregation! None of them, it seems, understood how his sin was having a damaging effect upon them!

We, however, must begin to think in this way. We are one body, and what each part does and how he does it affects the efficiency, effectiveness, and purity of the whole. In Corinth it played a major role in puffing up, confusing, and dividing the congregation jeopardizing the spiritual health of all!

This is so important that God includes it in the Ten Commandments! "You shall not bow down to [idols] nor serve them. For I, the LORD you God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me" (Exodus 20:5). God warns that evil will reach out, spread and afflict unborn generations. The effects of drugs, smoking, alcohol, medicines, x-rays, and poor diets upon the unborn are well known. However, we often fail to think of the effect of example. Do we care what we pass on to our children? Remember, it will very likely increase.

But notice the other side of this principle as revealed in the same commandment: ". . . but showing mercy to thousands [of generations], to those who love Me and keep My commandments" (verse 6). In His mercy God has provided that the good we do goes a long, long way almost immeasurably farther than our evil deeds. God is sovereign over His creation, actively participating in stopping evil before it destroys us. At the same time, He is active in producing good in us toward His Kingdom.

Why does God tell us so much about the kings of Israel and Judah? One reason is that each king reflected the attitudes and conduct of the entire nation, so He can describe the whole nation in microcosm. An equally important reason is to show that the nation reflected its leadership. If the nation was led by a David, Hezekiah, or Josiah, things went well. If the leadership fell to an Ahab or Manasseh, the country degenerated quickly.

God is showing that there is a ripple effect within the nation; the moral and spiritual quality of its leadership radiates out toward the people (Proverbs 29:2). Ralph Waldo Emerson writes, "An institution is the lengthened shadow of one man." Parents need to take note of this. What kind of ripple effect is influencing your children?

Mark 1:15
(15) and saying, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel."
New King James Version

Not only does Christ come to announce the soon-coming Kingdom of God, in particular to those whom God calls, but also to prepare the elect for their spiritual responsibilities now and in the Kingdom.

Repentance is a prerequisite for belief. What is repentance? Its basic meaning is to change the mind. Once a person hears the gospel and is convicted that his way of life is wrong, he must alter his present behavior and "bear fruits worthy of repentance" (Matthew 3:8).

The fruits of repentance are visible actions often called "works" that show that a person has indeed changed. When John the Baptist preached repentance to prepare the way for Jesus' ministry, his audience asked him what they should do to repent. He answered: Clothe the naked, feed the hungry, do not steal, do not use one's authority to oppress, do not lie or accuse falsely, and be content with one's wages (Luke 3:10-14). In general, these actions are either showing love for one's neighbor or obeying God's laws.

Jesus says, "If you want to enter into [eternal] life, keep the commandments" (Matthew 19:17). Later, when asked what are the greatest commandments, Jesus answered, "'You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart. . . .' And the second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself'" (Matthew 22:36-40). When we put all these things together, bearing fruits worthy of repentance is simply living as God does!

Believing the gospel is closely related to having faith. When one believes something, he has faith, trust, confidence, that it is true. This confidence leads him to begin to act in accordance with what he believes, and the result is obedience to it or following it. Notice how the apostle Paul shows this in Romans 10:8-10:

But what does [Scripture] say? "The word is near you, even in your mouth and in your heart" (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes to righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made to salvation.

Verse 10 provides the balance to verse 9. It is not enough just to confess Jesus verbally and believe in the resurrection as an intellectual exercise. Paul explains that heartfelt belief leads to righteousness, which is simply right doing or godly behavior. Faith, then—living faith (II Corinthians 5:7)—is trusting God's Word and doing it, even in the face of hardship, sacrifice, the contrary opinions of friends and family, or even death. The author of Hebrews, likely Paul, commends the "Heroes of Faith" to us for just these reasons (Hebrews 11).

Thus, Jesus' urgent command for us to repent and believe the gospel provides us with the negative and positive sides of a single, godly action. He tells us to rid ourselves of the evil we have been doing ("repent") and to begin doing what God expects of those to whom He has revealed His way of life ("believe"). This will lead to righteousness and salvation and—God promises—entrance into His Kingdom (II Peter 1:2-11)!

Deuteronomy 22:5 meaning
Moses prohibited wearing clothes of the opposite s*x.

Moses then told Israel that a woman shall not wear man’s clothing (v. 5). Male and female were to retain their distinct identities. Interestingly, the Hebrew word used for man (Heb. “geber,” related to the word “gibbôr,” “mighty man”) is a term which refers to a male who is at the height of his strength and abilities. The word clothing (Heb. “kelî,” “garment”, “ornament”) can refer to any article normally worn or carried by men such as adornments and weapons. But since the word occurs in parallel with woman’s clothing, it is probably used here simply as man’s garments.

Just as a woman was not allowed to wear man’s clothing, a man could not put on a woman’s clothing. Cross-dressing would have at least two negative effects. First, it would violate the natural order of things that the Suzerain (Ruler) God had established. For, although God created male and female equal, He created them with distinctive natural gender (Genesis 1:27; 2:21-24). Thus, to cross-dress would be to confuse genders and act contrary to God’s design for human beings. Humanity was created as God’s image by being male and female (Genesis 1:27). An example of this is that God created the woman as a “helper.” The word for “helper” (Heb. “’ēzer”) is most often applied to describe God in the Old Testament (as in Exodus 18:4; Deuteronomy 33:7, 26,29; Psalm 33:20)

Second, cross-dressing was known to be practiced in paganism to gain the favor of the gods/goddesses or to invoke them to send a message. Thus, it would reflect the religious practices of the pagan nations surrounding Israel, thus suggesting an association with idolatry (Deuteronomy 7:1-5, 25; Leviticus 18:12).

These reasons might explain why Moses told Israel that whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord your God. The term abomination (Heb. “tō’ēbâ”) refers to that which is repugnant or abhorrent in the eyes of the LORD. It can refer to defective sacrifices (Deuteronomy 17:1), the practice of magic and divination (Deuteronomy 18:12), or idolatrous practices (2 Kings 16:3). It also includes s*xual perversion, as in Leviticus 18:22-26. The Canaanite nations practiced all these things. The Suzerain (Ruler) God consistently commanded His chosen people to refrain from such perverse practices in order to serve Him as loyal vassals and be set apart as a “kingdom of priests” and a “holy nation” to Him (Exodus 19:5-6). The Canaanite culture was a culture of exploitation (as evidenced in Leviticus 18). Israel was to be a nation of neighbor loving neighbor.

A possible reason this command is housed within the sixth commandment relating to sanctity of life is that s*xual confusion is a path to losing one’s self.

Biblical Text:

A woman shall not wear man’s clothing, nor shall a man put on a woman’s clothing; for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord your God.

Last Letter by Nicholas Bhengu.

There shall arise men from among you who desire to live a high life like white people, who will have properties, expensive furniture and pomp.

The spiritual life will go down very low and men shall be glorified and preaching will be mentally devised to replace the Holly Ghost and inspirational messages. But God will from time to time raise men who will denounce these things and call people back to the God as I did.

These will be greatly opposed and persecuted in the very movement I established. Watch for these things and remember I warned you beforehand. Are there men among you who dare to live as I have and teach as I have taught and walk as I have walked in the Church of the living God? Faithfulness to God and honesty to men are a good maxim.

These are my closing words before I close my ministry for my home going. My whole life has been spent in bringing the "Voice" of God to you although there are prophetic messages I withheld because the Nation was not ready and still divided and struggling for independence and power.

I have lived being misunderstood, misinterpreted, misconstrued and abused by reckless men from all sections and sides. These were all very good for my moulding up as well as humiliation. They helped to keep me low, selfless and self- effaced. I could not ride a high horse after all my success for they were all His. I was glad when no street, road or avenue in all the townships was named after me.

My life was buried with Christ and although I received great honors from the leaders of various countries yet I was never elated to feel that I was above my fellow men in the street. I am going to lay myself down in death in real equality with all men of low estate. Men who never went to school, never preached to thousands in Africa and overseas.

I feel I am worthless. I feel I am nobody but God took my life and used it for his own pleasure as useless as I was. It was all for His honor and glory....if things go against you do not despair or react. They all help to keep you low and humble.

Be a man of prayer, fasting and bible reading. Pray always and present yourself to God in secret and seek His face. His glory will come over you and this is the only way to be effective in God's work.

Never pretend to be an academic when you are not one and if you are one, never be ostentatious about it. Desire no titles unless those you can earn. Do not be sidetracked by an temporal thing but be wholly consecrated to God. Build the Church of God. The names of our Churches are our own inventions and NOT God's!

Let the Christians come together as God's children. Build the Nation where you are remembering that you are part of that Nation and you are in it for a specific purpose for God. Pray for all leaders in Africa, support leaders of your Nation and present Christ to them by all means. The Church is the light of the earth and the Church should lead the Nation to Peace, Unity and prosperity.

The End of the letter.

🔥🔥🔥🔥😭😭😭😭Praise be to you, Lord, the God of our father Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, Lord, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all. Wealth and honor come from you; you are the ruler of all things. In your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all. Now, our God, we give you thanks, and praise your glorious name. But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand. We are foreigners and strangers in your sight, as were all our ancestors. Our days on earth are like a shadow, without hope. Lord our God, all this abundance that we have provided for building you a temple for your Holy Name comes from your hand, and all of it belongs to you. I know, my God, that you test the heart and are pleased with integrity. All these things I have given willingly and with honest intent. And now I have seen with joy how willingly your people who are here have given to you. Lord, the God of our fathers Abraham, Isaac and Israel, keep these desires and thoughts in the hearts of your people forever, and keep their hearts loyal to you....uThixo wethu🔥🔥🔥
