Last week we were so overwhelmed and blessed to attend Passion SA with some of our Youth. It was attended by around 30,000 people all singing praises to God and hearing the Word of God go out. What an incredible experience - all glory to God!!

At the beginning of a new year, we praise and bless God for all that God has done for us. God has blessed us with ALL the blessings in Christ Jesus. Let us join in Paul's prayer in Ephesians 3 that we may grasp this incredible love of Christ, and that we will be able to conform our lives to bring a smile to God's face.

Today, we joined in praising God, renewing our Covenant and feasting at His table.

"Lord God, Holy Father, since You have called us through Christ to share in this gracious Covenant, we take upon ourselves with joy the yoke of obedience, and, for love of you, engage ourselves to seek and do your perfect will.
We are no longer ours, but Yours.
I am no longer my own, but Yours. Put me to what you will, rank me with whom you will; put me to doing, put me to suffering; let me be employed for You or laid aside for You, exalted for You or brought low for You; let me be full, let me be empty; let me have all things, let me have nothing; I freely and wholeheartedly yield all things to Your pleasure and disposal.
And now, glorious and blessed God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, You are mine, and I am Yours.
So be it.
And the Covenant now made on earth, let it be ratified in heaven.
Amen"

Who we believe Jesus is, must of necessity, reflect in who we are as his disciples. How do we respond to Jesus who not only pours out his grace upon grace, but also who demands our lives be transformed in and through the power of the Spirit? Happy Father's Day and Youth Day to all. We love and appreciate our dads and young people. Of course, our Heavenly Father is our perfect example and in God we can know perfect love, grace and acceptance. We can go to our Father at all times and know that we are safe.

The family of God is a family of promise and covenant, where all are welcome in and through God's grace in baptism. This is where we truly learn to love as God has first loved us. "Who are my mother and brothers?" Jesus asked.... "Here are my mother and brothers! Whoever does God's will is my brother and sister and mother." (Mark 3:33-35).

Echoing the words of the writer of Hebrews, let us move on from the elementary teachings of Christ that have laid a solid foundation for our faith, and move on to maturity (Hebrews 6:1-3). As we mature in our faith we recognize the necessity of growing in holiness, a purity of heart, mind, soul and of life. "Be holy as I am holy" says the Lord.
The 4th and last in our sermon series "I Believe..." deals with Sanctifying Grace. The gift of God to sanctify believers, to make us holy and pure. He who has called us is faithful and He will do it!
