Morning Beloved

This morning we as Die Bakstene ask that you please keep Jaco one of our youth members at our Eersteriver Branch in your prayers. He was shot by gangsters, but God kept him alive and he is currently in ICU. Your prayers and petitions for healing and restoration will be most appreciated. God Bless!

You see, for me, leading Youth Ministry is remembering that each young person has Kingdom potential. That means seeing each youngster who walks through the doors of a church as young people who might one day grow up and be a dynamic Christ-follower. That means seeing them not as the church of tomorrow but as the church of today. God is working in their lives now, preparing them for the call He has on their lives.

Who but God knows the future He has for them? Maybe the next great theologian, pastor, ministry leader or church planter is sitting in one of your youth meetings right now. Maybe God is preparing a boy or girl in your ministry to be the next author, politician, artist, business leader or teacher to turn the world upside down for His honor and glory. Only God knows but as leaders we must help in insuring that the plans God has come to fruition.

Imagine how precarious your relationship with Christ would be if He only loved you when it was convenient for Him, or only when you were most attractive to Him. Everyone knows what it’s like to be loved imperfectly—and, if we’re honest, what it’s like to love someone else imperfectly.
Believers ought to be perpetually grateful that God’s love for us isn’t conditional, and that He loved us even while we rejected Him (Romans 5:8). In Ephesians 2, Paul wrote about God’s transcendent love for us in the midst of our rebellion.
And you were dead in your trespasses and sins. … Among them we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest. But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus. (Ephesians 2:1-6)
