Today, 9 August 2026, we honor the 20,000+ courageous women who marched to the Union Buildings in 1956. This 70th anniversary is a powerful reminder that when God's daughters rise in faith and unity, nations are shaken for His glory. Under the theme "Empowered Women, Empower Nations," we celebrate the hand of God upon the women of this land.
As a church family, we give thanks to our Heavenly Father for the strength, resilience, and wisdom He has poured out upon our mothers, grandmothers, sisters, and daughters. Like Deborah, they rise as leaders. Like Esther, they stand in the gap for such a time as this. Like Ruth, they walk in unwavering loyalty and faith.
Wathint' Abafazi, Wathint' Imbokodo! — You strike a woman, you strike a rock. And that Rock is Christ Jesus, our firm foundation. 🙌🏾
A prayer for our women:
May the Lord cover you with His wings, strengthen your spirit, and grant you divine favor in every door you walk through. May you never grow weary in doing good, for your labour in the Lord is not in vain. We stand with you, uplift you, and celebrate the beautiful daughters of Zion you are.
📖 "She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come." — Proverbs 31:25
To every woman shaping our homes, workplaces, and church—we see you, we celebrate you, and we cover you in prayer. God bless you, and God bless South Africa! ✊🏾💜🕊️
