SAUL KEPT A JEALOUS EYE ON DAVID, BECAUSE OF A SONG THAT WAS SANG BY WOMEN, WHO DIDN'T MEAN TO CAUSE PROBLEMS!

IT WAS AN INNOCENT SONG PRAISING SAUL AND DAVID IN A DIFFERENT WAY, BUT SAUL TOOK OFFENSE.

THE SONG BECAME THE CAUSE OF CROSSFIRES BETWEEN SAUL AND DAVID

1 SAMUEL 18:5-12
[5]● Whatever Saul asked David to do, David did it successfully. So Saul made him a commander over the men of war, an appointment that was welcomed by the people and Saul’s officers alike.
[6]● When the victorious Israelite army was returning home after David had killed the Philistine, women from all the towns of Israel came out to meet King Saul. They sang and danced for joy with tambourines and cymbals.
[7]● This was their song:
“Saul has killed his thousands,
and David his ten thousands!”
[8]● This made Saul very angry. “What’s this?” he said. “They credit David with ten thousands and me with only thousands. Next they’ll be making him their king!”
[9]● So from that time on Saul kept a jealous eye on David.
[10]● The very next day a tormenting spirit from God overwhelmed Saul, and he began to rave in his house like a madman. David was playing the harp, as he did each day. But Saul had a spear in his hand,
[11]● and he suddenly hurled it at David, intending to pin him to the wall. But David escaped him twice.
[12]● Saul was then afraid of David, for the LORD was with David and had turned away from Saul.

THE HIGHEST ALTAR APPEAR, THE SMALL ALTAR MUST BOW AND SURRENDER!

AND SO THE LORD USED TO SPEAK TO MOSES FACE TO FACE, JUST AS A MAN SPEAKS TO HIS FRIEND. When Moses returned to the camp, his attendant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, would not depart from the tent.

/PAIN :

● OH THAT YOU WOULD BLESS ME AND ENLARGE MY BORDER.
This words shows that Jabez was struggling in life irrespective of him being a man of honour.

● AND THAT YOUR HAND MIGHT BE WITH ME.
Jabez was longing to feel the merciful hand of God.

● AND THAT YOU WOULD KEEP ME FROM HARM SO THAT IT MIGHT NOT BRING ME PAIN.
This man was tired of pain. He had taken enough strain from painful experiences. All because of his name.

● AND GOD GRANTED WHAT HE ASKED.
God hears and answers prayer.

EXTRACTS OF SUNDAY MESSAGE: !

: ' , HOW PAIN CAME TO BECOME PART OF HIM AND HOW THIS PAIN AFFECTED HIS LIFE?

1● .

YOU CAN BE HONORED AND STILL BE IN PAIN AND SUFFERED. YOU CAN BE RESPECTED IN PUBLIC BUT STILL CRY AND SUFFER IN YOUR SECRET CLOSET.

To be an honorable means to be in a place or position that brings honour or deserves honour.
This means that Jabez was a decent man, who deserved honour and respect and also presented honour and respect.
THE WORD HONORABLE IS USED AS A TITLE FOR CERTAIN HIGH OFFICIALS, AND FOR CHILDREN OF CERTAIN RANKS OF THE NOBILITY, AND MPS.
This also means and implies that Jabez was addressed as honourable Jabez and people may also have written letters to him as honourable Jabez.
HE WAS A MAN WITH GOOD INTENTIONS AND GOOD STANDING.

2● HIS MOTHER CALLED HIS NAME JABEZ, SAYING, "BECAUSE I BORE HIM IN PAIN"!

This pain should have ended with the mother. It was not supposed to be extended to the child.

WHAT IS YOUR NAME AND WHAT IS THE MEANING OF YOUR NAME? IS YOUR NAME AN EXTENSION OF PAIN, TEARS, TROUBLES AND OR SUFFERING?

Therefore here we are learning that Jabez' mother whose name is not mentioned transferred her pain to his son through the name, "Jabez which meant Pain"!
THROUGH HIS NAME, HIS MOTHER'S PAIN WHICH WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE ENDED WITH HIS MOTHER, WAS NOW PERMANENTLY REPRESENTED AND REFLECTED IN HIM.
All because his mother suffered so much pain during pregnancy and during birth, that she named the child PAIN, which shows or means that the pain she suffered was too much or too excruciating.
*THIS TEACHES US THAT PARENTS CAN MAKE THEIR CHILDREN TO CARRY THEIR PAIN AND PROBLEMS, THROUGH NAME GIVING.* WHEN SUCH PAIN SHOULD HAVE ENDED WITH THEM.

26/09/2021

For when Solomon was old his wives turned away his heart after other gods, and his heart was not wholly true to the LORD his God, as was the heart of David his father. For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites. So Solomon did what was evil in the sight of the LORD and did not wholly follow the LORD, as David his father had done. Then Solomon built a high place for Chemosh the abomination of Moab, and for Molech the abomination of the Ammonites, on the mountain east of Jerusalem. And so he did for all his foreign wives, who made offerings and sacrificed to their gods. And the LORD was angry with Solomon, because his heart had turned away from the LORD, the God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice and had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods. But he did not keep what the LORD commanded.

No matter how his brothers envied him, hated him, threw him into the pit, sold him to the Ishmaelites and lied about his disappearance, Joseph didn't see the need to punish them for the evil they did to him.
*HE LOOKED AT HOW THINGS WERE GOING FOR HIM AND CHOSE TO DISCONNECT FROM THE BAD EXPERIENCES HE HAD WITH HIS BROTHERS.*

*What BAD Experiences did you encounter?*

*DISCONNECT yourself from that bad experience!*

*GENESIS 50:15-21*

[15]● But now that their father was dead, Joseph’s brothers became fearful. “Now Joseph will show his anger and pay us back for all the wrong we did to him,” they said.
[16]● So they sent this message to Joseph: “Before your father died, he instructed us
[17]● to say to you: ‘Please forgive your brothers for the great wrong they did to you—for their sin in treating you so cruelly.’ So we, the servants of the God of your father, beg you to forgive our sin.” When Joseph received the message, he broke down and wept.
[18]● Then his brothers came and threw themselves down before Joseph. “Look, we are your slaves!” they said.
[19]● But Joseph replied, “Don’t be afraid of me. Am I God, that I can punish you?
*[20]● , .* He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people.
[21]● No, don’t be afraid. I will continue to take care of you and your children.” So he reassured them by speaking kindly to them.

MESSAGE: IGNITING THE FIRE 🔥

JUDGES 15:1-20

[1]● Later on, during the wheat harvest, Samson took a young goat as a present to his wife. He said, “I’m going into my wife’s room to sleep with her,” but her father wouldn’t let him in.
[2]● “I truly thought you must hate her,” her father explained, “so I gave her in marriage to your best man. But look, her younger sister is even more beautiful than she is. Marry her instead.”
[3]● SAMSON SAID, “THIS TIME I CANNOT BE BLAMED FOR EVERYTHING I AM GOING TO DO TO YOU PHILISTINES.”
[4]● THEN HE WENT OUT AND CAUGHT 300 FOXES. HE TIED THEIR TAILS TOGETHER IN PAIRS, AND HE FASTENED A TORCH TO EACH PAIR OF TAILS.
[5]● THEN HE LIT THE TORCHES AND LET THE FOXES RUN THROUGH THE GRAIN FIELDS OF THE PHILISTINES. HE BURNED ALL THEIR GRAIN TO THE GROUND, INCLUDING THE SHEAVES AND THE UNCUT GRAIN. HE ALSO DESTROYED THEIR VINEYARDS AND OLIVE GROVES.
[6]● “Who did this?” the Philistines demanded.“Samson,” was the reply, “because his father-in-law from Timnah gave Samson’s wife to be married to his best man.” So the Philistines went and got the woman and her father and burned them to death.
[7]● “Because you did this,” Samson vowed, “I won’t rest until I take my revenge on you!”
[8] ●SO HE ATTACKED THE PHILISTINES WITH GREAT FURY AND KILLED MANY OF THEM. THEN HE WENT TO LIVE IN A CAVE IN THE ROCK OF ETAM.
[9]● THE PHILISTINES RETALIATED BY SETTING UP CAMP IN JUDAH AND SPREADING OUT NEAR THE TOWN OF LEHI.
[10]● THE MEN OF JUDAH ASKED THE PHILISTINES, “WHY ARE YOU ATTACKING US?”THE PHILISTINES REPLIED, “WE'VE COME TO CAPTURE SAMSON. WE'VE COME TO PAY HIM BACK FOR WHAT HE DID TO US.”
[11]● So 3,000 men of Judah went down to get Samson at the cave in the rock of Etam. They said to Samson, “Don’t you realize the Philistines rule over us? What are you doing to us?”BUT SAMSON REPLIED, “I ONLY DID TO THEM WHAT THEY DID TO ME.”
[12]● But the men of Judah told him, “We have come to tie you up and hand you over to the Philistines.”“All right,” Samson said. “But promise that you won’t kill me yourselves.”
[13]● “We will only tie you up and hand you over to the Philistines,” they replied. “We won’t kill you.” So they tied him up with two new ropes and brought him up from the rock.
[14]● As Samson arrived at Lehi, the Philistines came shouting in triumph. But the Spirit of the lord came powerfully upon Samson, and he snapped the ropes on his arms as if they were burnt strands of flax, and they fell from his wrists.
[15]● Then he found the jawbone of a recently killed donkey. He picked it up and killed 1,000 Philistines with it.
[16]● Then Samson said,
“With the jawbone of a donkey,
I’ve piled them in heaps!
With the jawbone of a donkey,
I’ve killed a thousand men!”
[17]● When he finished his boasting, he threw away the jawbone; and the place was named Jawbone Hill.
[18]● Samson was now very thirsty, and he cried out to the lord, “You have accomplished this great victory by the strength of your servant. Must I now die of thirst and fall into the hands of these pagans?”
[19]● So God caused water to gush out of a hollow in the ground at Lehi, and Samson was revived as he drank. Then he named that place “The Spring of the One Who Cried Out,” and it is still in Lehi to this day.
[20]● Samson judged Israel for twenty years during the period when the Philistines dominated the land.
