• THE WHOLE BIBLE FROM GENESIS TO REVELATION DEALS WITH THE QUESTION OF
IDENTITY - WHO WE ARE IN GOD
EXAMPLES
1. Gen 1: 26 - We are made in the image and likeness of God
1. Ex 3:13,14 - God introduced Himself to Moses as "I AM THAT I AM"
2. Jhn 1: 12,13 - We are born of God, and not of the flesh nor the will of man
3. Rev 1: 8 - Jesus says that He is Alpha and Omega
• The Bible lets us know who we are in God- once we know who you are in Him everything
changes.
1 Pet 2:9, 10
• Peter is quoting the Old Testament and bring us to the Revelation of our true identity in
Christ in the New Testament
• We were once not a people, but are now the people of God. We had not obtained
mercy but now we have obtained mercy.
• This is who we are in God, we were nobody's before we came to know Christ...but now
we are somebody’s and have obtained mercy.
