LIFETEEN - CONFIRMATION OF CANDIDATES FROM 2020

Dear Parents

The following process will be undertaken to confirm the candidates for 2020.

The first group will be the candidates who registered at the beginning of 2020 for confirmation. According to our records there are approximately 18 candidates for 2020. These, and only these 18 candidates, will commence classes on Friday, 5 March. Classes will start with Mass at 5.30pm in the Hall. Due to the Covid restrictions, stipulating that only 100 people are allowed in the Church, the confirmundi will view the 5.30pm Mass on the projector screen, using the Zoom application, in the Hall. They will go through the side door for communion and then return to the hall for the lesson starting at 6pm. We will end at 7pm. Parents are urged to please collect all candidates promptly at 7pm.

CONFIRMATION DATE: 23 MAY 2021 at 9am Mass.

We will arrange logistics with the parents and sponsors of the candidates on 9 April 2021. Please bring copies of Baptism certificates of all candidates by Friday, 26 March 2021.

CANDIDATES PLEASE NOTE THAT WE WILL HAVE COLLECTION EVERY FRIDAY FOR THE PARISH SO PLEASE BRING ANY CHANGE YOU HAVE.

Sanitisers will be available. Your temperature will be taken and you will be screened before entering. Please be at the Hall by 5:20pm every Friday.

Candidates for Confirmation 2021:

We will commence lessons for the candidates for 2021 in July 2021 with the registered numbers as at January 2020. Only those candidates will attend classes in the Hall at St. Mary’s Cathedral. I will send out a roster of lesson days and procedures in the newsletter for March 26, 2021.

Thank you and God Bless.

Fabian Borman

CORE Member and Team Leader.

CATECHISM UPDATE

Dear Parents

We resumed First Communion classes from Monday 15 Feb 2021 at 4.30pm to 5.30pm.

ONLY those children who were registered and paid their registration fee in 2020 will be making their sacrament on Sunday 6 June 2021.

First Confession classes will resume on 12 April 2021.

ONLY those children who were registered and paid their registration fee in 2020 will be receiving this sacrament on Saturday 29 May 2021.

PLEASE NOTE that the first group of classes (for children who registered in 2020) will run from February to June 2021.

In July we will register the next group of children (for 2021) and these classes will run from July to November 2021. Hopefully, by then, we will have managed to bring our classes back on track.

It is vitally important that you assist your child as we need to get as much work done as possible in a very short space of time.
