Easter Convention Day 1 - The Symbols of the Cross
Lady Pastor Nana Akua Essien
Message - Death (Heb. 2:9, Luke 9:23)
Convention day 1 started off with a powerful and soul searching message! What does the Cross of Jesus Christ mean to you as a Christian? Are there things in your life that need to be removed for you to move to the next level in God?
Using practical examples of daily living Lady Pastor showed us why death, though painful is the main component of the Cross! Death to flesh, carnality, ambition, etc and allowing Christ to live in us.
Many of us have experienced pain and suffering unnecessarily simply because we are 'too alive'. Our refusal to die to self is the main reason for many of humanity's greatest woes; i.e. broken families, drug and alcohol abuse and many others. Our inability to die to self has made the promises of God seemingly ineffective!
Even Jesus, the Son of God had to die to receive the Name above every other name and the privilege to sit at the right hand of God! Paul, the persecutor of the brethren realised that for him to have eternal life he had to die to self first (2 Cor. 5:21).
What many of us don't understand is that eventually everyone on earth whether we like it or not will have to bow before Jesus and confess that He is Lord, but the blessings that come with recognising Him as such are only for those who do it now without being compelled!
Brethren it is time to put aside pride, selfish ambition take up the Cross of Jesus Christ and allow God to live His will through us. It is time to die to self, submit now and live a joyous life in God! Jesus left all and came to die because He knew that without death there can be no glory (Mark 10:29-30)!
Join us tomorrow at 6pm for the encore of this life transforming message and may God do a new thing in your life as you come! Shalom!
