THE ANCHOR OF MY SOUL ⚓
Scriptures: Matthew 7:24–27; Psalm 119:9; Hebrews 6:19
Today, Apostle Sebolai preached a powerful message about the anchor and the foundation.
When you look at a ship, you may be attracted by its beautiful appearance, its size, or the way it moves on the water. But what protects that ship when the storms come? The anchor.
When strong winds begin to blow and the waves become rough, it may look as though the ship is losing its strength. But if the ship is properly anchored, it will not simply drift away or sink. The anchor holds it firmly in place.
1. WHAT YOU SEE IS NOT ALWAYS WHAT IS HOLDING YOU
People are often attracted by what they can see—the outside appearance, success, possessions, beauty, position and lifestyle.
But there are things holding us that people cannot see.
The strength of a believer is not only in what people see on the outside; it is in what has been built on the inside.
The storm will reveal what is underneath.
2. THE HOUSE NEEDS A STRONG FOUNDATION
Jesus said in Matthew 7:24–25 that the wise person is the one who hears His words and puts them into practice. That person is like someone who built a house on the rock.
When the rain came, the floods rose and the winds blew against that house, it did not fall because it had a strong foundation.
The question is not whether storms will come. Storms will come.
The question is: What is holding you when the storm comes?
You can have a beautiful house, but without a strong foundation, it will eventually fall.
In the same way, you can look strong on the outside, but if your spiritual foundation is weak, the storms of life can shake you.
3. JESUS MUST BE THE ANCHOR OF YOUR SOUL
Our anchor must be Jesus Christ.
We need something deeper than what people can see. We need something rooted inside our hearts.
Our anchor is strengthened through:
The Word of God — read it, meditate on it and live by it.
Prayer — prayer keeps us connected to God.
Faith — trust God even when you cannot see what He is doing.
Obedience — don't only hear God's Word; practise it.
Psalm 119:9 asks:
“How can a young person stay on the path of purity?”
The answer is: “By living according to your word.”
The Word of God becomes an anchor for our lives.
4. THE WORD YOU HIDE INSIDE YOU WILL HOLD YOU IN THE STORM
Sometimes we read the Bible and we don't immediately see the results.
It is like planting a seed.
When you put a seed into the soil and cover it, you cannot see what is happening underneath. But just because you cannot see the seed does not mean that nothing is happening.
The seed is developing beneath the soil.
The same applies to the Word of God.
Every Scripture you read, every prayer you pray, and every truth you hide in your heart is building something inside you.
You may not see the growth immediately, but when the storm comes, what you have built secretly will become your strength publicly.
5. THE STORM DOES NOT HAVE TO DESTROY YOU
The wind may blow.
The waves may rise.
People may disappoint you.
Things may not go according to your plans.
You may even reach a place where you feel as though you are losing your strength.
But when Jesus is your anchor, the storm does not have the final word.
The ship may move with the waves, but the anchor keeps it from drifting away.
You may cry, but you won't quit.
You may bend, but you won't break.
You may be shaken, but you won't sink.
CONCLUSION
Don't build your life only on what people can see.
Don't build your life on money, beauty, position, relationships, possessions or people's opinions.
Build your life on Christ.
Read the Word.
Pray.
Obey God.
Hide His Word in your heart.
Because one day the storm will come, and when it comes, you need to have something deeper than appearance holding you.
Jesus is my anchor.
The Word of God is my foundation.
Prayer is my connection to God.
Therefore, when the storms come, I will not sink.
⚓ I AM ANCHORED IN CHRIST!

"When preparation meets your appointed time."

Genesis 41: 14 Joseph journey
Luke 15: 22 The prodical son

Before God elevates you or restores you, He prepares you. He removes the marks of your old season and equips you for your new one. What was lost is restored, and what was delayed is fulfilled in God's perfect time.

God is not looking for perfect people; He is looking for humble hearts that are willing to repent. Genuine repentance opens the door to God's forgiveness, restoration, and preparation for the next season of His purpose.

Today we had an amazing time with our Youth during our Movie Night as we watched the powerful faith-based movie “Breakthrough.” 🎬🙏

The movie reminded us of the incredible power of prayer, the importance of having unshakable faith, and trusting God even when circumstances seem impossible and hopeless.

We were encouraged to remember that we serve a God who is able to do the impossible. When our faith is anchored in Him, no situation is beyond His reach. 🙌✨

May we continue to pray boldly, believe wholeheartedly, and walk in the confidence that God is still working miracles.

“For nothing will be impossible with God.” – Luke 1:37
