House of prayer , continued

“And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness. Now the multitude of those who believed were of one heart and one soul; neither did anyone say that any of the things he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common. And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all. Nor was there anyone among them who lacked; for all who were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of the things that were sold, and laid them at the apostles’ feet; and they distributed to each as anyone had need.”
Acts 4:31-35 NKJV

* The sequence of events was as follows; 1. They prayed, 2. The place shook,3. They were filled with the Holy Spirit.
* In a house of prayer there is an abundance of the power of the Holy Spirit.
* We can not therefore gather in the house of prayer and not experience the power of the Holy Spirit.
* The mark of the house of prayer being immersed in an atmosphere of prayer is:
* 1. Boldness (which allows believers to speak in-spite of opposing opinions or situations; this boldness is fuelled by the power of the Holy Spirit)
* 2. Unity in heart and mind. (The power of the Holy Spirit acts as a binder and uniter of the believers assembled in fellowship)
* “Therefore receive one another, just as Christ also received us, to the glory of God.”Romans 15:7 NKJV
* 3. Sharing (The Holy Spirit breeds compassion leading to sharing of all things)
* “Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need.” Acts 2:44-45 NKJV
* The Holy Spirit can not allow you to fellowship with believers who lack while you have access to plenty- He works within the hearts of the believers in a house of prayer.
* There is no lack in the house of prayer.
* Those who enrich the poor will be enriched.
* “Those who live to bless others will have blessings heaped upon them, and the one who pours out his life to pour out blessings will be saturated with favor.”Proverbs 11:25 TPT
* Helping others is part of the package of salvation- prayer will cause you to have a heart for the things which are in the heart of the Father.
* 4. No needy persons. (The presence of the Holy Spirit removes poverty and lack but this only comes from the house of prayer)
* The house of prayer equips believers to live victorious lives.
* 5. Great power, great grace and great blessings.
* When a church is a house of prayer led by the Holy Spirit there is the presence of grace, power and the Holy Spirit.
* The Lord Himself adds the number of people who are being saved to a church that represents Christ well and is a house of prayer. Those who persist in prayer and display the characteristics of a Holy Spirit led church automatically draw people to themselves.
* We are called for God’s people. A growing church is a social church. Love must be displayed and lived.
* We must have one heart and one mind.

Identify the seasons

We must know and understand the season we are in:
* We are in a season of ceaseless prayer because the fruits must be seen and evident.
* We are in a season of the operational power of the Holy Spirit.
* We are in a season of the excessive working of the enemy. The enemy is waging war with those who operate in spiritual gifts.
* The devil wants us to be in the flesh so that we miss the power of the season.
* In order for us to survive this season we must be rooted in prayer.
* Prayer holds all the answers and power of the season. Even the children must be taught to pray in this season. This is critical because the devil is also attacking them.
* In as much as the season is dangerous, it is also equally glorious for the believer who is rooted in prayer.
* You can not pray led by emotions- you must pray because it is critical, the devil is waiting for opportunities to attack.
* “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” I Peter 5:8 NKJV
* We are in the season of signs and wonders.
* The season goes against our customs and norms.
* Do not miss the season
* We are in the season of anointing and glory.
* We are in a season of victory, authority and the supernatural power of God.
* The power of God operating in this season is beyond any other power there is.
* The pain is in prayer- it is exceedingly difficult to pray ceaselessly but this is the only pain we must endure in this season because victory is guaranteed.
* In this season we must travail in prayer. We must not dwell in self condemnation but we must travail even when the enemy fights our prayer.
* Do not summarise prayer. Pray and travail.
* When there is intense prayer, the presence of the Holy Spirit is felt and the Word has staying power.
* God is gathering the last army that will conquer.
* Heaven has created a deadly combination of the power of the word, the power of the Holy spirit and the power of prayer- this is to guarantee our victory in this season.
* There is a boldness that is created by the prayers made in this season.
* The devil is using fear to cripple the believer’s boldness. We must preach the word with boldness.
* Boldness makes you speak in faith and oppose the situation because of the conviction of God’s word.
* The season is here to change ordinary people into vessels of courage.
* Pray without ceasing, dwell in the atmosphere of the Holy Spirit.
* In this season the church must be one in heart and mind.
* There is a difference between spiritual unity and unity. All structures speak of unity, the unity in the church is one that is brought about by ceaseless prayer- this is called spiritual unity.
* In spiritual unity, all believers are one in heart and mind.
* It is the Holy Spirit who brings about unity.
* The absence of the Holy Spirit is the absence of unity.
* We can never achieve unity with our own strength.
* In a church with spiritual unity, all believers celebrate one another and carry one another’s burdens wholeheartedly.
* Pray without ceasing, the Holy Spirit will bring unity.

The power of a praying church

Background
* This prayer made by the early church was as a result of the persecution of Peter and John because they had healed a person who had been a known cripple all his life and begged at gate beautiful. They had been brought before the Sanhedrin to explain the miracle and they exalted the name of Jesus- this was the reason of their persecution. The name of Jesus was forbidden and then the church gathered to pray for boldness.

* “Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.”” Acts 3:6 NKJV
* Peter shifted the expectation of the man to receive alms in the form of silver and gold as usual, they had no alms to give but they had something more powerful to give- the Name of Jesus in order for the man to receive total healing and be able to work for a living instead of begging for alms daily.
* They possessed something of greater value than silver and gold.
* “So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them—walking, leaping, and praising God.” Acts 3:8 NKJV
* He left the alms he had received, leaped up and followed the apostles to the temple praising God.
* When the name of Jesus was banned, Peter and John told the believers and they gathered and prayed.
* The response of a church to any problem is to gather and pray. Do not speak about the issue- pray! This is where the power of the church lies.
* Prayer must precede all matters.
* Prayer must be the first thing you do when you wake up. Demons do not rest, they spend the night plotting against God’s people. It is imperative to pray.
* No one has ever prayed and not received an answer.
* “Then he said to me, “Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard; and I have come because of your words.” Daniel 10:12 NKJV
* Your prayers have a larger impact than you can see, persist in the place of prayer. Prayer is powerful.
* The earth shook after the church hd prayed- we must pray and witness such results after we have prayed.
* The devil fights our prayer because there is a level he does not want us to reach. We must then persist and travail. We must pray until the level of the unlimited operational power of the Holy Spirit is made manifest.
* Pray until you reach a level where the Holy Spirit has control over all circumstances.
* Praying in spirit is born of travailing in prayers made in the physical. We must desire to ascend to this level.
* There are levels where the Holy Spirit has complete control and you are a vessel of His working and doing.
* Prayer results in power. Persistence in prayer results in the working of the Holy Spirit.
* Pray and wait for the “AFTER”
* The “after” part of prayer engaged your faith, it is believing in what you have not yet received before you receive it. It is laying ahold of something before it is made manifest in the physical. You can not escape the pain of faith and patience.
* Prayer is an explosive- we must wake up and realise its true power. We have to explosive power in our hands.
* Prayer is a bomb!
* Prayer is able to heal, deliver and restore. It gives you the authority to make commands and decrees.
* Pray from a place of power. We do not pray for demons, we cast them out.
* Jesus prayed alone in the mountain and descended to cast out demons.
