St Thomas is a parish of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Southern Africa (ELCSA), located in the Doornfontein suburb of the City of Johannesburg. It was established in 1984 as an English medium congregation serving Lutherans from all over South Africa and the African continent migrating to Johannesburg. Today it serves students at UJ and Wits and is a home from home for young Lutheran families

starting an economic life in Johannesburg. It seeks also to be a home for people setting their homes in the intercity. The mission of St Thomas is to worship God and the serve the Community in which it is located through an empowered Congregation
