TITLE: FIGHT FOR YOUR INHERITANCE .
SCRIPTURES: 2 SAMUEL 5:5-7, MATTHEW 1:11-12 , JUDGES 1:21 , 2 CORINTHIANS 10:3-5 .
The Bible tells us in the book of Samuel that David reigned as king at the age of 30 years old. He was anointed three times that he was the king. The children of Israel lived well with the Jebusites, to the extent that when David wanted to drive them away, they refused. They even uttered that the blind and the lame could repel him as king because they lived well together.
They were in such a comfortable position that they posed an insult to the king. This is exactly what we are facing as the children of God.
THE JEBUSITES DWELLING WITH THE PEOPLE OF GOD
We are the children of the Kingdom, but the lame and the blind say “We cannot have this. We will live with any type of sickness and chronic illness as a child of God”. Even if we have said, “By His stripes we are healed ” they still continue to oppose that. Those are the Jebusites dwelling with the people of God, and they are refusing to leave. They go as far as saying “Your family is living under the curse of poverty, even if you are saved.”
YOU ARE PROVOKED TO FIGHT
Today, you are provoked to fight just like David did. He fought for his inheritance and so should we. The blind and the lame are insulting our inheritance. For Jerusalem to be called the City of David, he had to fight for it so the same applies to us. God wants us to fight. Some of us even say that we are the same as unbelievers in terms of sickness. We cannot give away our inheritance like that. The Bible says the Kingdom of God suffers violence it is taken by force (Matthew 11:11).
You are reminded today that what God has given you is yours. This is your inheritance but you need to fight for it. Every prophecy that you have received is yours but there is a Jebusite and a curse that opposes that hence you need to fight. We need to fight like King David. You drive the Jebusites out because you have come as the King.
ACCEPT AND UNDERSTAND YOUR INHERITANCE
Accept and understand that healing, riches, and salvation are yours. You are a child of the Kingdom of God and there is so much that God has promised you including what is written in the Bible , what has been declared in prophecies. 2 Corinthians 8:9 says, “For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ that though He was rich, yet for our sake became poor, so we may be rich”. This is a promise that Jesus became poor so that we may become rich and receive this inheritance. So, fight for it.
The Jebusites felt entitled to Jerusalem, just as Satan feels entitled to your life . It is time to take the Kingdom by force and stop comparing ourselves to the people of this world. When you fight, you do not fight alone. God is there with you.
THERE ARE THINGS THAT NEED TO BE CALLED BY YOUR NAME
There are things that need to be called by your name, and God is waiting for you to take over. So, you need to fight. There are demons and spirits that say, “You can’t come here,” or, “You can’t have certain things.” There are battles that we are not supposed to accept as the children of God. We say we are healed by His stripes yet we become comfortable with sicknesses.
David faced Goliath and understood the God he had in him. He was sharp in his meditation and he was certain that he would conquer the giant. So, what are Jebusites compared to the giant? That is the same mentality we need to have as children of God.
TAKE CONTROL OF THE STRONGHOLDS
David took control of the stronghold of Zion. Take a strong hold against the negative thoughts that are projected towards you. You can still have the things that you desire here on earth. God is working on our thinking. The weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God to pull down strongholds( 2 Corinthians 10:4). We are reminded that our warfare is not according to the flesh, so we need to fight in the Spirit and take control of strongholds.
You are no longer the same. Allow your mind to be transformed. You are a child of the Kingdom, so fight for your inheritance as an informed person.
