What do you like? Like a lot? What is it that you don't like?
These are some of the questions that contributes to our sense of self or identity if we pay attention to our answers over time on a regular basis.
On a local, recent note - I'm enjoying my awareness of the fact that I don't like pork - simply because I didn't know that about myself 22-25 years ago, when I really battled to embrace different foods. There is freedom in that.
What is it that moves your spirit - and that forms the pathways to deeper connections with God? I love the ocean - while finding that big, rushing waves are actually part of that. Like big, rushing waterfalls. I love nature - birds, forests, mountains...
Arthur Burk builds out these ideas from different angles in teachings such as PTSD & Accessing Intimacy with God. Suddenly I wish I could also go to the bookshelf to page through Gary Chapman's - The love languages of God. (A quick google shows a more recent one I missed.)
Let's ask ourselves - back to the basic questions - do you know that God loves you? Do you know that you are precious to Him? Yes - the traumas, shame and bruises makes that very difficult for so many people. I ask your spirit to come forward and ask God to engage directly with you in the key of music so to speak - in the connections that would reach you - and show you your worth. I would like to encourage your spirit to keep awareness up - check out what God's doing, showing and saying - from the distance that feels safe ... moving closer when you can. I listened to spirit blessings for over two years before it went past huge firewalls I didn't know were there. May you tune into the broadcast frequency that has your name on it.
