On spiritual discernment
1.God's messages from prophets will be in perfect harmony with His Word. Diligent study must be made to see if a message/messenger is true.( 2Peter 1:19-21)
2. A true prophet will insist that his messages be tested by the Word. He will not encourage people to go by impressions and feelings. (2Thess 2:15)
3. Every prophetic claim must be tested and must pass ALL biblical tests. One failed test disqualifies the message and the messenger. (1 Thess 5:19-21). A divine messenger/message will pass all the tests 100%; but a human messenger/message will fail somewhere.
4. Every word of God is of a" supernatural being", it must be weighed and measured by the standard of God's Word. (Mt 4:4)
5. Even a tiny bit of error makes the entire message dangerous. It should never be excused as insignificant. A little leaven corrupts the whole lump. (Gal 5:9) Mt 5:18
6. The word of God in its divine standard is the only tool or sword able to differentiate spirits and souls, as shining angels maybe evil angels in disguise. Gal 1:8, Mt 7:15
7. A true prophet's predictions will always come true Jer 28:9 Deut 18:21-22
8. A divine message for men shall be understandable, God will make sure that even children can understand and enter in the kingdom of God. GOD doesn't suffer from language/communication troubles or language ignorance, even when speaking in parables. A revelation from God will bring a plain and clear message, for God's people to know what to do. Hab 2:2 Write the vision and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that reads it.
9. Those who are not willing to test everything by the Word of God will accept errors and consume what is corrupted and swallow up stones by Satan's suggestions. Mt 4:3; 2 Tim 4:3-4
10. A prophet of God , a prophet of the Truth knows that his fruits must be tested, he doesn't fear his life and practices to be an opened book. 1 Tim 4:15; 2Cor 6:3; 2 Cor4:2; 2Cor 8:21-22
11. God's messages/messengers are pure/holy, free from silliness or triviality, sober minded not jesting. God cannot throw what is holy to dogs and pigs. *Titus 2:2, 6-7; Eph5:4
12 . A prophet of the Truth avoids self-exaltation and titles of pride. 1Tim 3:1. But when a prophet encounters divinity, he humbles himself the more. Is 6:5
Spiritual things are spiritualy discerned, and divine things are divinely discerned, God has called us to the divine, the standard of His Word.
