*THE SPIRIT OF POLITICS IN CHURCH* .

* The *spirit of politics* in the church often refers to the tension between engaging in society to advocate for justice and biblical values versus adopting worldly, divisive, and power-seeking methods. It involves navigating the balance between being salt and light in public life while avoiding the pitfalls of partisan idolatry and internal strife.

*Key aspects of this topic include* :
• *The Positive Aspect* (Biblical Mandate): The church is called to influence politics for good, speaking out against injustice, and engaging with society to promote love and truth, rather than remaining silent.

• *The Negative Aspect* (Political Spirit): A negative, "political spirit" is characterized by a desire to win rather than solve problems, demonizing opponents, fostering division, and prioritizing personal or partisan agendas over spiritual unity.

• *Internal Church Politics* : This refers to power struggles, gossip, and the quest for position within the church, which can cause division and hinder its mission.

• *Guidelines for Engagement* : Christians are encouraged to engage in politics with humility, wisdom, and a focus on Kingdom principles, ensuring their behavior remains consistent with their faith, rather than letting political views dictate their spiritual lives.

*Ultimately, the goal is for the church to influence culture without being corrupted by it, ensuring that political engagement is an extension of Christian love and service.

IS CHRISTIANITY A WHITE MAN'S RELIGION?

Christianity is not inherently a "White Man's Religion," though its historical development and cultural associations in the West have sometimes led to this perception. Here's a nuanced breakdown:

1. **Origins**:
Christianity emerged in the 1st century CE in the Middle East, rooted in the teachings of Jesus, a Jewish figure from Judea. Its early followers were ethnically diverse, including Jews, Africans (e.g., the Ethiopian eu**ch in Acts 8), and communities across the Mediterranean and North Africa.

2. **Global Spread and Diversity**:
- By the 4th century, Christianity spread to regions like Ethiopia, Armenia, and India, long before much of Europe.
- Today, the majority of Christians live in the Global South (Africa, Latin America, Asia), with vibrant, culturally distinct practices.
- African, Asian, and Indigenous Christian traditions often blend local customs with theology, challenging the idea of a monolithic "white" faith.

3. **European Colonial Influence**:
- European colonialism and missionary efforts (15th–20th centuries) tied Christianity to Western cultural dominance, exporting Eurocentric interpretations and imagery (e.g., white depictions of Jesus).
- Tragically, some colonizers distorted Christian teachings to justify slavery and oppression, creating a fraught legacy. However, marginalized communities also reinterpreted Christianity as a tool for liberation (e.g., Black churches in the U.S., Latin American liberation theology).

4. **Theological Universality**:
Core Christian teachings emphasize universality—e.g., "There is neither Jew nor Greek... in Christ Jesus" (Galatians 3:28). The faith’s foundational texts and mission (e.g., the Great Commission, Matthew 28:19) explicitly address all peoples.

5. **Cultural vs. Theological Identity**:
While Christianity has been culturally shaped by European traditions (e.g., Christmas customs, Gothic architecture), these are expressions of faith, not its essence. The religion’s adaptability across cultures underscores its transcultural nature.

**Conclusion**: Labeling Christianity as a "White Man's Religion" oversimplifies its complex history and global diversity. While European colonialism and cultural hegemony have influenced its modern perception, Christianity’s origins, teachings, and demography defy racial or ethnic ownership. Acknowledging its misuse in oppression is crucial, but so is recognizing its role as a multifaceted, global faith embraced by billions of diverse peoples.

Ephesians 5:1-2
(1) Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. (2) And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.
New King James Version Change email Bible version

Love is extremely rewarding yet also costly, since one who loves will sacrifice. Indeed, sacrifice is love's very essence.

We can illuminate Paul's thought in Ephesians 5:1-2 by placing it in a larger context. Note Ephesians 2:8-10:

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

Salvation indeed is a free gift; it cannot be earned by works. Yet, after saving us from our sins, God requires us to work! We are to perform work that He has laid out beforehand for us to accomplish. In fact, verse 10, standing by itself, asserts that to do these good works is the very reason we have received justification!

This verse, in the phrase, "we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus," also says that God, in turn, is working on us. Before being saved, we were not in Christ Jesus. God's creative processes brought us into Christ, and once there, He continues to shape and form us into His Son's image (II Corinthians 3:18).

We are being formed, shaped, and molded by our Creator and Savior to become Christ-like. What kinds of work are required of us for this to happen?

As he progresses toward his statement in Ephesians 5:1-2, Paul says in Ephesians 4:17-18:

This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk [live your life] as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind, having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart. . . .

Is it twisting these verses to say that Paul is commanding these converted and already-saved people to work to sacrifice their lives as Christ did? Doing what he commands takes the work of consciously praying, studying, investigating, and meditating on God's Word to remove a person's ignorance and blindness. It also takes the additional hard work of resisting Satan, human nature, and the world to implement what is learned into daily life.

Such labor will be very pleasing to God, but in no way does it earn us salvation! Moreover, this is clearly obeying God's command. Even though it is not one of the Ten Commandments, it nonetheless expresses God's will for His children after they have been saved from past sins.

WHERE DO YOU GO FROM HERE ?

Matthew 13:4
(4) And as he sowed, some seed fell by the wayside; and the birds came and devoured them.

It does not sound good that the birds eat the seed—and it is not. The "birds of the air" are a negative symbol. In verse 19, instead of saying "birds of the air," Jesus interprets them as "the wicked one" devouring the seed. In his version, Mark uses the specific word "Satan," and similarly, Luke has "the Devil."

Notice Genesis 15:11, where Abraham is making a covenant with God: "And when the vultures came down on the carcasses, Abram drove them away." What were the vultures doing? They were interfering between God and man, trying to defile Abraham's sacrifice.

Deuteronomy 28:26, a somewhat different context being within the Blessings and Curses chapter, has this as a curse: "Your carcasses shall be food for all the birds of the air and the beasts of the earth, and no one shall frighten them away." God promises that there would be no Abraham around, as it were, to fend off the birds. "Birds of the air" is a negative symbol.

Revelation 18:2 really nails it down:

And [an angel] cried mightily with a loud voice, saying Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a habitation of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hated bird!

What are the "birds of the air"? Demons! They try to get us when we are young in the church. Like the lion of I Peter 5, they go for the stragglers, the weak, and the newborn, because they are the easy pickings. What is step one of Satan's plan against the church? Attack God's people early in their calling. Distract them. Persecute them. Crush them—before they are strong enough to resist.

The question was asked... "MUST I BE A MEMBER OF THE CHURCH OF CHRIST IN ORDER TO BE SAVED?"

This is a Wonderful question! Thanks for asking. To answer this question, I will only consult the Bible to produce and furnish your answer. I am saying this to 'you' who have asked and to everyone ... everywhere in this world -

FOR YOUR INFORMATION...
It was in Jerusalem, way back in AD33, on the day of Pentecost, Exactly FIFTY DAYS after the resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ from the dead that the CHURCH OF CHRIST came into existence. It was ONLY one church then, and it is STILL one church today! Read Acts chapter 2.
This church - the 'church of Christ' was prophesied of longtime ago by four Old Testament prophets that 'IT' was coming (Isaiah 2:1-3, Daniel 2:44, Joel 2:28, Micah 4:1-2). All those prophecies came to fulfillment on the day of Pentecost in Acts chapter 2. Since that day (the day of Pentecost), the church of Christ existed and the gates of hell (man-made religions) shall not prevail against 'it' according to Jesus in Matthew 16:18.
Jesus WILL be coming back for "IT" as "IT" is the ONLY church He established (Matt.16:18, Acts 2:47), purchased with His own blood (Acts 20:28), and leave here for every human person to enter in through obedience to the gospel of Jesus Christ.

One body: One church = same thing.
One Lord, one head of the same body =same thing. One doctrine, one gospel = same power of God that leads to salvation to everyone that believe and obey! Romans 1:16
If you are not IN the church of Christ, the only Church that is registered - written - and recorded in heaven (Heb.12:22-24), you are still in a lost state, and is presently living under condemnation!
This applies to every human person who are living in this world but have not obeyed the gospel of Jesus Christ... religious or non religious.
Romans 1:17 says; "For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith” So, in Christ, our sins (we who have obeyed the gospel of Jesus Christ) have been forgiven and there is no condemnation. Since Christ is free from condemnation before God, so is the obedient sinner who is "in Christ" Not only that, but God has "raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus" (Eph.2:6).
● Romans 8:1 says...There is therefore now 'no condemnation' to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
● Acts 2:47 told us that the Lord added those who are saved to the church.
● Ephesians 1:22-23 and Colossians 1:18 told us that the church is the body of Christ and He (Christ) is the head of the body...the church.
Now, 👉🏿if Christ is the head of the body and 👉🏿the church is the body of Christ, and 👉🏿the saved ones are in the church, and 👉🏿there is no condemnation to those who are in Christ... That means 👉🏿all who are OUTSIDE of Christ's body (the church of Christ) are under condemnation!👈🏿
Remember...Back in the days of Noah, there was only one Ark, and, all the SAVED PEOPLE was in it, Genesis chapters 6-7.
In the New Testament, there is ONE CHURCH, and the Lord ADDED the SAVED ones to it, Acts 2:47.
You can not and will never be saved IF YOU ARE NOT IN THE CHURCH OF CHRIST: because the Church of Christ is the only body (church) of Christ. Eph.1:22-23, which is also the only kingdom of Christ, Col.1:13.
Therefore, if you are not in the Church of Christ then YOU ARE NOT IN THE BODY OF CHRIST and YOU ARE NOT IN THE KINGDOM OF CHRIST - and by so, YOU ARE NOT SAVED!
Once again - the Bible told us that the Lord ADD 👉🏿those who are saved to the church, Acts 2:47, which is His body, Eph.1:22-23, Col.1:18👈🏿
You are ALL welcome to the church of Christ, it is the only church Christ established so that every human beings can become a part of once they have obeyed the gospel of Jesus Christ by…
You must realize that you are in a lost state, Rom.3:23
You must Hear the Gospel of Christ, Acts 15:7, Romans 10:17.
You must Believe the Gospel of Christ, Mark 16:15-16, Hebrews 11:6.
You must Repent of your sins, Luke 13:3-5, Acts 17:30.
You must Confess your faith in Christ, Acts 8:37, Rom.10:9-10
You must Be Baptized in water to remit your sins, Acts 2:38, Acts 22:16, 1 Peter 3:21.
Then you must remain Faithful unto death, 2 Peter 1:5-11, Revelation 2:10..The churches of Christ welcome you...
Romans 16:16

1 Thessalonians 4:1
(1) Finally then, brethren, we urge and exhort in the Lord Jesus that you should abound more and more, just as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God;
New King James Version Change your email Bible version

When we really mature in our spiritual life, we see more, we know more, we feel more, we do more, and we repent more. It is all in proportion to our closeness to God! We are, in short, growing in grace(as Peter said in II Peter 3:18).

No one who neglects the spiritual big four—Bible study, prayer, meditation, and occasional fasting—can expect to make much progress in sanctification because these are the channels through which spiritual strength flows from God. This is why having access to God through Jesus Christ is so important. These efforts produce faith and then obedience, and fresh supplies of His grace flows.

There are no spiritual gains without pains. Would we expect a crop from a farmer who never even looked at his fields until harvest time? That is ridiculous! The farmer has to get out in his fields and sow the seeds. Does not God say in James 3:18 that "the fruit of righteousness are sown in peace by those who make peace"? The fruits of righteousness have to be sown! That is work.

What are the fruits of righteousness? They are love, joy, peace, gentleness, goodness, meekness, kindness, faith, self-control—but they have to be sown, fertilized, cultivated, and pruned. We see a process. As those fruits begin to be produced, sanctification cannot be hidden any more than the fruit on a tree can be hidden. We will never attain to holiness without Bible study, prayer, fasting, meditation, and obedience because through them is how spiritual life is sown, cultivated, fertilized, and tended so that fruit is produced.
