OVERCOMING THE BATTLES OF LIFE

The Christian life is a daily battle between the flesh and the Spirit. Paul says in Galatians 5:17 (NKJV), “For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh.” Victory begins when we choose to surrender daily to the Holy Spirit.

First, renew your mind through God’s Word.
Romans 12:2 (NKJV) says, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” What fills your mind will influence your choices. God’s Word gives us strength to resist temptation and stand firm.

Secondly, develop a consistent prayer life. Jesus said in Matthew 26:41 (NKJV), “Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Prayer keeps our hearts sensitive to God and strengthens us when we are weak.

Thirdly, crucify the flesh through discipline and self-control. Paul declared in 1 Corinthians 9:27 (NKJV), “I discipline my body and bring it into subjection.”
Remember, you are not fighting alone. Galatians 5:16 (NKJV) declares, “Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.”
Through Christ, you can overcome every battle.

WHEN THEY LIE ABOUT YOU: DON’T LET STEAL YOUR PEACE

Gossip, jealousy, envy and resentment can cause people to speak things about you that are completely untrue. Sometimes, people who once admired you can become offended by you, and their resentment can turn into backbiting and character assassination.

I remember, 37 years ago, someone I deeply looked up to falsely spread rumours about me. It hurt deeply. But thank God, that person apologised. What did I learn? You cannot control what people say about you, but you can control how you respond.

The Bible says, “A soft answer turns away wrath” (Proverbs 15:1 NKJV).

Don’t repay gossip with gossip. Don’t fight lies with lies. Don’t allow somebody else’s bitterness to contaminate your spirit.

1 Peter 3:9 NKJV says, “Not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing.”

Sometimes the most powerful response is silence, prayer, integrity and continued obedience to God.
Remember: God knows the truth about you. Your character will eventually speak louder than someone’s accusations.

“Commit your way to the LORD, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass.” Psalm 37:5 NKJV

DON’T RUN FROM THE VALLEY, LET GOD HOLD YOUR HAND

There are seasons when life takes you through a valley. A valley can represent pain, uncertainty, disappointment, loss, or a situation you never expected. But remember this: the valley is not your destination, it is a passage.

David declared:
“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me.” Psalm 23:4 (NKJV)

Notice David said, “I walk THROUGH.” He didn’t stop in the valley, and he didn’t walk alone. He walked with God.
Sometimes God will not remove the valley immediately, but He will give you grace to walk through it. His presence becomes your strength when your own strength is failing. His Word becomes your light when you cannot see the way forward.
Don’t let your valley make you question God’s presence.

The same God who was with you on the mountain is with you in the valley. Keep praying. Keep believing. Keep moving. Keep holding His hand. Your valley has an expiry date, but God’s presence has no expiry.
You may be walking through the valley today, but you will not die there. Walk with God, you are coming out.

Blessed 10th Wedding Anniversary to my daughter and son-in-law. Today we celebrate God's faithfulness over your lives and marriage. May the Lord continue to strengthen your love, deepen your friendship, and establish your home on the unshakable foundation of Christ.

"Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate." Mark 10:9 (NKJV)

I pray that the next decade will be filled with divine favour, good health, wisdom, peace, prosperity, and overflowing joy. May your love grow stronger with every season, your home be filled with God's presence, and your children be blessed. May every dream God has placed in your hearts come to pass, and may you continue to be a shining testimony of His grace. We love you both dearly.
