PG13 is a vision that was birthed, when God spoke to Pastor Michael-John Francis (Solid Community Church, Johannesburg) in 2009 - who was overseeing the church’s Youth Ministry (Basix) at that time - giving him a mandate to raise up a "Prophetic Generation". Michael-John was then reminded of an encounter one of the Basix Youth members, Cardon Perumal (11 yrs old at the time), had had a few months
prior to when he received this mandate. Cardon was taken up into heaven in the Spirit and was given a shofar by an angel, who instructed her to go back and call on the prophets. This encounter was linked to Jeremiah 1:5 which reads: "Before you were in your mother's womb I knew you; before you were born I set you apart, I ordained you a prophet to the nations." PG13 was then established as an annual Conference and Concert held over a weekend in June 2010, and has been successful ever since - seeing young people's lives being drastically impacted and transformed in numerous ways, and the fruits thereof still evident. However, PG13 is more than just an event, but rather a mandate, a movement and a mission to commit to. Our logo illustrates that PG13 is a generation with a VOICE (shofar) to be reckoned with, a generation who projects the WORD of God (Sword), a generation who has VISION from God (Light) and a generation that is SET APART by God (Fire). The Number Thirteen symbolizes LOVE (1 Corinthians 13), therefore PG13 is a generation motivated and driven by LOVE – illustrated by the cross. We network with and involve other youth ministries from various churches around Johannesburg and beyond (Kensington Community Fellowship, Johannesburg; The Potter’s Hands, Kimberley, etc), in our annual PG13 Events held over one weekend in July.
