HAPPY FATHERS' DAY TO ALL YOU HEROS OF THE FAMILY AND FUTURE GENERATION

Celebrate the dads in your life.

The Bible is full of stories about fathers and father figures who God used in different ways.

Dads like Jesus’ earthly father, Joseph, who faithfully led and protected his family.

Or Jethro, Moses’ father-in-law, who gave wisdom and leadership advice to Moses.

And Paul, who was a spiritual mentor to Timothy.

Just like the men in the Bible, the dads in our lives inspire us in different ways.

Maybe they’ve protected you like Joseph, shared timely guidance like Jethro, or encouraged you like Paul.

Whether he’s your own dad or a father figure, tell a dad how thankful you are for who he is and what he means to you by sharing this Verse Image:

"Everytime I think of you, I give thanks to my GOD", Philippians 1:3.

A Good Friday Prayer
Jesus,

I grieve that the torture and sorrow You endured on the cross were necessary to save humanity. You didn’t want us enslaved to fear, anxiety, or sin—so You sacrificed Yourself so that Love could win.

It’s Love that hung upon the cross and gave up everything to rescue us. “It is finished” was a cry of victory, because You defeated everything that held us in captivity.

Because of Your sacrifice, I can experience intimacy with You forever. Thank You! Show me how to share Your love today and every day.

Use me to reach the world You died to redeem.

Amen.🙏

Why is Good Friday “good”?
…He said, “It is finished,” and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

JOHN 19:30

The disciples watched as Jesus cried out, “it is finished.” But what was finished wasn’t Jesus’ life—it was everything separating us from God’s love.

“God with us” became “God for us” by giving up His life to rescue us.

Jesus suffered so that our suffering world could know God personally … that’s what makes Good Friday “good.”

Joseph of Arimathea, a prominent member of the Council, who was himself waiting for the kingdom of God, went boldly to Pilate and asked for Jesus’ body. Pilate was surprised to hear that he was already dead. Summoning the centurion, he asked him if Jesus had already died. When he learned from the centurion that it was so, he gave the body to Joseph. – Mark 15:43 – 45

Next Sunday is Easter, and in our minds, we are probably pushing past today and thinking of the celebration that will take place commemorating the resurrection of Jesus. But wait. Not so fast. We would do well to remember that the people we read about in the Bible had to live this all one verse at a time. They didn’t know the end of the story. They couldn’t skip ahead to the next chapter. For them, on Saturday, Jesus was dead and buried. The tomb was sealed shut. Hope was gone, lying there silently in that cave.

Why should we bother thinking about Jesus’ final moments on the cross and who buried him? One answer is that there would be several false accounts that would crop up over the next several centuries, accounts which deny either the death or the resurrection of Jesus. It is essential to our faith that we know for certain that Jesus was really dead. That is why they buried him.

These were not overly superstitious people—they knew when someone was dead, and they knew what to do with a dead body. You bury it. Joseph and Nicodemus go to great personal trouble and expense to honor Jesus. Though they did not stand for him in life, they now stand for him in death, preparing his body in haste so as to get him in the tomb before sundown. They intended to go back later and remove his bones. They never did. And everyone now knows why.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, your death and resurrection form the very foundation of my faith, the source of my hope and purpose, the wellspring of my salvation, the assurance of my peace and the basis for my eternal life with you. I confess that I am often so quick to jump from Good

This is a verse from me to you and we as one who believe in Him who send His only Son to save us from what is evil.

Dear friend, do not imitate what is evil but what is good. Anyone who does what is good is from God. Anyone who does what is evil has not seen God. Demetrius is well spoken of by everyone—and even by the truth itself. We also speak well of him, and you know that our testimony is true. I have much to write you, but I do not want to do so with pen and ink. I hope to see you soon, and we will talk face to face. Peace to you. The friends here send their greetings. Greet the friends there by name.

First Things First

Confession of sin is critical to the Christian life and the process of new birth. If we refuse to admit that we are sinful, we refuse to acknowledge our need of a Savior and as a result we cannot be cleansed from the sin in our lives. The Bible tells us that “if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteous ness” (1 John 1:9). We don’t deserve God’s forgiveness, but when we confess our sins and ask for forgiveness, he freely gives it to us by his love and his grace (see Ephesians 2:3 – 5).

In order to keep our souls clean for God, we must pray, as the sinner in Jesus’ parable prayed, “God, have mercy on me, a sinner” (Luke 18:13). This prayer — and the humility that accompanies it — is the first step toward a redeemed life.

We are Called to Love All God’s Children

Now about your love for one another we do not need to write to you, for you yourselves have been taught by God to love each other. 1 Thessalonians 4:9

The first step toward turning your life around is loving God — learning to become liberated from your old earthly desires and needs by focusing your heart, soul, mind and strength on the Lord. This first step leads naturally to another step — learning to love others. Once you enter into the light of the Holy Spirit and are cleansed of your sin, you will be able to see the world with new eyes. Your love for God will be reflected in your love for the world.

Ephesians tells us that we must bear with one another in love in order to keep the unity of the Spirit (see Ephesians 4:1 – 6) — joining together in one body and one Spirit. With the Spirit’s help, we can love others by looking for opportunities to “do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers” (Galatians 6:10).

Loving God Sets Us Free

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. Mark 12:30

The first step in turning your life around as a Christian is allowing yourself to experience all-encompassing love for God. This is not a love that we should offer only during a weekly church service or when we cry out to him during desperate times. Rather, Jesus commands us to love God always, that at every hour our priority should be God.

While this sounds like a challenging task, focusing our love on God will allow us to experience his love and share it with others (see John 14:21 – 24). Loving God means freedom from the earthly desires that torment us and imprison us. Lust-filled desires for power, fame, riches and s*x can distract us from the true message of the gospel. Love for God, however, can be so strong that it counters these lesser desires, setting us free for the first time.

We are More than Conquerors Through Jesus’ Love

In all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:37 – 39

Even when we have experienced new birth through Christ, it can be easy to doubt God’s love for us if we focus on the evil in the world and the turmoil we often find in our lives. But if we truly want to turn our lives around as followers of Christ, we must grasp on to God’s love for us. God has shown us through the sacrifice of his Son that his love has conquered even death. There is nothing that can send us beyond the limits of his boundless love. There is nothing that should cause us to live lives marked by fear and sorrow. Jesus has conquered death, and we have the hope that someday we will too! When we believe in the promises of this passage in Romans, we know that God loves us no matter the situation, and we can live joyfully and victoriously changed lives as a result.

Today's scriptures;

The help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. Psalms 121:2

Let's Pray

God, I am so grateful I can look to You in of trouble. Thank You for being my constant help during challenging times. When I don’t know what to do, I ask You to guide me and fill me with Your peace and wisdom. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

23/09/2021

Good evening fellow friends and family, I greet you all in Jesus' Name.

Today I wish to share with you Today's scriptures from Psalms:

"One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple. For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent and set me high upon a rock".
Psalms 27:4‭-‬5 NIV

And

"Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him".
Psalms 34:8 NIV

Let us pray:

Our Father, Lord Who is in heaven, remind us that You're with US when suffering and hardship happens on Us. Give Us strength and light to shine bright when darkness falls upon our lives. Help Us to remain strong and glorified all the time. Give us courage because We believe in You and know that You can redeem every hardship We encounter through day in, day out for Your glory, in Jesus' Name, Amen.🙏

I thank you.
