Ministry requires courage and determination because there are some areas that are difficult to reach by vehicle in order to reach people.
Rev J.M. Kamisa, Moderator of CCAP Synod of Livingstonia, Rev I.V. Mhone, Deputy General Secretary, and Mr Lumbani Shaba, General Treasurer joined Synod Moderator today Saturday, 6th June, 2026 and arrived at Sokora Congregation where Misuku Presbytery is meeting after ascending 5 km through mountainous terrain on foot. There is no vehicle road access to Sokora Congregation. Walking is the only option, especially when rains make the ground slippery and streams flood.
The Misuku Presbytery meeting is underway and will end on 7 June, 2026. Below is the video of ascension to Sokora Congregation.
At the meeting, Rev I.V. Mhone, Deputy General Secretary, reported to Christians that early marriages and immoral conduct constitute the most urgent crisis facing the Church today as they are destroying children’s futures and interrupting education. He called on families, church elders, mothers, fathers, and youth groups to prioritize moral teaching and protect children’s education and future, emphasizing that homes and congregations must become centres that teach children good morals and the fear of God.
He further reported that a spirit of independence is emerging where some congregations and Ministers disregard Synod decisions and church law. He stressed that Synod is the mother of the Church, and order, respect, and obedience to Synod decisions are essential for the Church’s unity and mission, noting that no congregation can stand alone and succeed.
