International Day of the African Child 🌍

Today, we commemorate the International Day of the African Child.

This day honours the courage of the students who took part in the Soweto Uprising of 16 June 1976, standing up against injustice and demanding quality education. Their sacrifice continues to inspire efforts to protect, promote, and uphold the rights and well-being of every child across our continent.

This year’s theme, “Ensuring Universal Access to Water, Sanitation and Hygiene for Every Child in Africa,” reminds us that access to clean water, safe sanitation, and proper hygiene is not a privilege - it is a fundamental right for every child.

As we reflect on this important day, let us recommit ourselves to creating environments where all children can thrive, grow, and reach their God-given potential.

Jaime serves as the Field Finance Coordinator and assists in interpretation for the region. Blista continues her studies in psychology and assists in counseling youth in their local church. Jesus is Your Friend: Children’s Rally in Nigeria

Children from across the Nigeria’s Port Harcourt District gathered recently for a rally featuring a variety of engaging and fun activities designed to promote learning about the Church of the Nazarene, participation and fellowship among the children under the theme, “Jesus is Your Friend”. The event was held at the First church of the Nazarene International, Azuabie. Along with games, there was also a competitive Children’s Bible Quiz and a time of evangelism where the kids went out into the community with banners and dancing to create awareness about the church within the community.
