YOUR PAST HAS NO POWER
2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”

Many people have arrived at a conclusion about their lives, about their situations, that is based on deception - lies whispered by the devil rather than the truth of God's Word. But as a Christian, your past has no power to hold you hostage. Who you were does not define who you are. Your background may influence you, but it does not define you. Your upbringing may affect you, but it does not limit you. There is no past too bad that God's grace cannot redeem, and there is no pain too deep that God's love cannot clean.

Yet, why do so many still believe that their history dictates their future?

Apostle Paul, who wrote the letters to the Corinthians, was once Saul, a state persecutor. He refused to allow guilt or inferiority from his past life of sin to prevent him from living as a new creation in Christ Jesus. Instead, his conversion demonstrates that the worst of sins can be forgiven - today’s prolific persecutor can be tomorrow’s zealous saint.

Your relationship disappointment does not mean you are doomed to disappointment. Your failed business does not mean you are condemned to failure. If you have strayed far from God, that does not mean that you are destined to stay far from God. Don't believe the lie that you are bound by who you were or what you've done. What matters is your decision now - right here, right now, in this moment.

Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, I thank You for not considering my past to determine my future. I ask You to enter my life, to put an end to my past and give birth to my future which is secure in You. Thank You Jesus Christ for making me a new creation. In Jesus’ name, amen.

“We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.” (Hebrews 6:19)
Our strength is not in the storm’s quieting, but in the One who steadies us through the chaos. God does not stand at a distance; He steps into the boat, into the storm, into our trembling hearts, and speaks peace that defies reason.
Resilience is holy defiance: it is trusting when sight fails, standing when the ground shakes, believing when hope seems lost.
You are not drifting in the dark. You are anchored to the Almighty and no storm can tear you from His hand.
