MOVING ON UP YOUTH CONFERENCE
Breakthru Life Church, Johannesburg
04 - 08 December 2024
Moving On Up 2024, FMI’s annual youth camp, kicked off on December 4th and ran until December 8th, drawing over 320 young people from across the country! With this year’s theme, “Let’s Get Lit”, the camp focused on igniting a perpetual passion for God in the hearts of the next generation. The anticipation for this event was extraordinary, with tickets selling out a month in advance a clear sign of the hunger within this generation to step beyond the ordinary and pursue the extraordinary purposes of God.

From the opening session, it was evident that this was no ordinary gathering. The air was charged with anticipation and faith, and over the course of the camp, lives were deeply transformed. Thirty-four young people gave their lives to Jesus for the first time, over 80 recommitted themselves to the Lord, and more than 100 came forward to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit. These moments of surrender and empowerment were some of the most moving highlights of the week, showcasing the deep hunger among the youth to encounter God in a real and tangible way.

The camp featured remarkable speakers who left a lasting impact on the attendees. Simoné Pretorius, a celebrated producer and actress, shared her powerful testimony, focusing on identity and the healing love of the Father. Her story resonated deeply, and many came forward to experience freedom and embrace their God-given worth. Blake Bowden also shared his testimony, recounting his journey from a lost teenager to someone passionately pursuing God. His story was a vivid reminder of the transforming power of God’s love and His ability to turn brokenness into beauty.

While the spiritual moments defined the camp, there was no shortage of fun and fellowship. The youth participated in a variety of outdoor activities, including tug-of-war, obstacle courses, relay races, and even Bible trivia. The friendly competition and high-energy games created an atmosphere of camaraderie and teamwork. This year, Team Moriah emerged victorious in the MOU Games, claiming their place as champions of 2024.

Pulling off an event of this magnitude required a dedicated team, and the success of Moving On Up 2024 is a testament to their hard work. The Breakthru Staff Team worked tirelessly to organize and run the camp, while Youth Leaders from various churches played a vital role in mentoring and guiding the attendees. Special thanks also go to the FMI Apostolic Team for their unwavering support and investment in this generation.

As the camp came to a close, it was clear that Moving On Up 2024 had sparked something powerful in the hearts of the youth. They left not only inspired but transformed, ready to burn brightly for God in their everyday lives.

The anticipation for what God will do through this generation in the coming year is already building, and Moving On Up 2025 promises to take things even further.

This camp was more than an event it was a movement - a reminder that God is raising up a fearless generation that will passionately follow Him in bringing light into darkness.

NORTHERN REGIONAL RELATING LEADERS
19 - 22 November 2024
It’s always a pleasure and privilege to be among brothers when we gather for Relating Leaders. I enjoyed the connection times where we could ‘kuier’ over good food with good friends.

I also really valued the time John took to teach on leadership and look at the foundations of who we are as the FMI network. The stories of legacy and revival in our country are always inspiring.

The times of worship and ministering to one another were awesome. I left refreshed with prophetic words for the season to come.

The recent FMI Northern Relating Leaders retreat at Esperanza was, once again, a wonderful time of fellowship. It was also a time of seeking the Lord, worshipping together and encouraging one another through testimonies and prayer.

The time around the fire was spent getting to know each other, having great conversations and some laughs. But, there were also more intentional talks during the sessions John Crumpton facilitated. These were so encouraging and interesting.

To no surprise, the food was incredible! 'Lekker boere kos' from the Free State!

What a privilege to be part of a community of church leaders that alligns with FMI!

COASTAL REGIONAL RELATING LEADERS
03 - 06 November 2024
The Coastal Regional Relating Leaders is always a highlight for many in church leadership, and all the more so, when held at beautiful Morgan Bay. Despite the cold snap and stormy weather resulting in the loss of power and communications at times, Morgan Bay did not disappoint but displayed all the glory and splendour of our incredible Creator.

This year saw one of the biggest turnouts in memory filling the venue where we met almost to capacity with many newcomers joining us for the first time. Among them a contingent from New Life Church in Durban that, despite taking an incredibly scenic route and only arriving in the early hours of the next morning, managed to forgive Google Maps and soon relaxed into the jubilant company of brothers all connecting around the braai fires. It was a great privilege to welcome among us John Crumpton and Chris Perks from Joyburg and Patrick Jearey from Malalane.

Our mornings were spent in worship and sweet times of flowing with the Spirit as words of encouragement and prophecy came from the presence of the Lord. Many were activated, encouraged, built up and restored. Much time was spent listening to each other share on the work the Lord is doing in each of the churches and the lives of the leaders. God is on the move and the best is yet to come! John shared a great word on healthy church eldership and unpacked what this looks like biblically and practically.

We were spoiled with lunches at the Morgan Bay Hotel where the fish and chips were the clear favourite. There was also wonderful time and space given to fellowship and encourage one another in the Lord. This was such an incredible time of refreshing for us all, bringing to remembrance Psalm 133: "How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in harmony!"

Truly, God is on the move and the best is yet to come!

CATHCART COMMUNITY CHURCH
40TH ANNIVERSARY
02 - 03 November 2024

The 40th Anniversary of the church in Cathcart was truly a milestone in the life of the church. It was a weekend of looking back and being reminded of the seeds sown and foundations laid by Derek Crumpton and the successive leaders all those years ago (Chris Perks, Robbie Wardle, Patrick Jeery, Steve van der Schyff, Anthony Harvey).

We were privileged to have the FMI Apostolic Team with us, including all the previous leaders, except for Anthony Harvey currently residing in the UK. The children and youth blessed us with dances and dramas, and we had great times of praise and rejoicing.

Our catering team served wonderful meals on Saturday and Sunday, which enhanced the times of fellowship and catching up between friends.

Timothy and Pauline were greatly blessed by prophetic words to carry the baton in the coming years and pass it on to the next generation.

There is the promise of the abundance of rain coming to Cathcart!
The best is yet to come!

ZIMBABWE FOOD RELIEF OUTREACH
Mwenezi, Zimbabwe
10 - 13 October 2024

We departed on Thursday, the 13th of October, to Zimbabwe. We travelled to Mwenezi in the southern part of Zimbabwe.

Our moving through the Border post was a slow process, but without major incident. In the town of Beitbridge we purchased all the goods needed for the parcels before continuing to Mwenezi.

Once there, we began ministering. Tatenda (Eternal Word Zimbabwe) was with us for the outreach and we had multiple sessions throughout the day. The people gathered from the surrounding villages to receive teaching and encouragement. Friday and Saturday evening we showed the Jesus Film after which we invited people to give their lives to the Lord! During both evenings we had a great response and many people committed their lives to the Lord!

The equipping and encouragement was received with great joy - it was evident! We connected so well with the local people and built beautiful relationships for the future.

After Sunday's service, we distributed the food parcels to those who had need. These were received with great excitement and we would like to thank all who contributed to this effort! We would also like to give special thanks to the Apostolic team for their assistance and support!

A beautiful testimony came from a 13-year-old girl who had already been initiated into traditional healing. She gave her life to the Lord! Hallelujah! She was abandoned at a young age and raised by her paternal grandmother. She was chosen for her 'calling' as a Sangoma, since she was very small. After hearing the salvation message, she responded, and we connected her with the local pastor who will continue to minister to her as she gets set free from her past!

We encountered some technical problems with our trailer but returned on Sunday without any major setbacks!

Glory be to God!
