Handover Sunday 🙂‍↕️

On Sunday we saw the transition of the leadership of Cornerstone Church from Marcus and Adele to Craig and Taryn, marking the beginning of a new season.

This will be the 4th Lead Eldership couple we have seen in over 41 years of Cornerstone’s existence that has seen a small plant in Bedfordview grow into a base church with 11 different sites across Johannesburg and influence that reaches across the globe.

And at the center, it has always been Jesus. From the very beginning. Right through to this very moment, Jesus has been and will be at the center of it all.

Thank you for your faith, church. Thanking for your perseverance. Your trust. Thank you for walking the journey, for praying for us during this transition. Thank you for celebrating, and trusting in Gods perfect plan.

May he carry us farther and wider and deeper than ever before.

On Sunday, all sites came together at the Bedfordview site to worship our King Jesus..

This Sunday however was extra special as we took a moment, as one church, to honour Marcus and Adele for their 25 year legacy in leading Cornerstone.

This community has grown from a small local church in the suburbs, to a local church across the city. 11 sites, in 11 vastly different corners, with influence reaching across the globe. Many different faces and backgrounds all united under the banner of knowing Christ and making Him known.

We thank you Jesus for your faithfulness. Thank you for this beautiful community. And thank you for all that you still have in store!

This Sunday, the leadership of Cornerstone Church will transition from Marcus and Adele, to Craig and Taryn. Pray for us, the whole body, as we enter into this new season.

Jesus, you are Lord. May your name be ever on our lips ♥️

We had a whole lot of thank yous shared on Sunday as we honoured Marcus and Adele.

The impact that they have had on the lives of people both in this city, in South Africa and all over the world cannot be measured.

They said yes to God’s call over their lives. He has carried them faithfully and He will continue to carry them into their new season.

From all of Cornerstone Church, those who are far and who are near, those we have come and gone, we say THANK YOU!
