The belief systems of this world require constant amendments in order for those who follow those teachings to constantly believe they are doing a “righteous” service to God, or a reverenced god. The Apostle Paul in the book of Romans calls it misdirected zeal. Romans 10:2-4 NLT explains it so clearly that having read this word it then becomes a choice to remain misdirected or to seek the truth of salvation.
This morning I understand what the word of God means when He says “those who were prepared in advance for glory” (Romans 9:23;24), both Jews and Gentiles. But now there’s the issue of misdirected zeal?!! This becomes the reasonable conclusion to the existence of the many sects, the many options of so called “faith” or “religious beliefs” today. They seem innocent, they touch on some truth here and there, they feed the hungry, they visit the sick, they volunteer and donate to seemingly good causes, fast for days, yet in the same breath the true condition of their hearts doesn’t change, they have no real fear of nor reverence for the creator of heaven and earth that is Adonai Elohim and have no business with repentance. Why? Because they have reduced Him to the level of human emotion, that is why they can carve an image dip it in gold plaiting or paint a portrait and claim it is the image of the Most High!!
Apostle Paul says “For they don’t understand God’s way of making people right with Himself” that is, they don’t understand the work of Calvary, the mandate of Jesus. But here’s the crux of the matter the Bible says they REFUSE to accept GOD’s way (that is, they refuse to accept the possibility of the redemptive act of the crucifixion of Jesus ), they cling to (attach themselves to, devise, invent) their own way of getting right with GOD by keeping the law (their inventions of religion). But, what do you mean by this, you may ask? Let me show you something very interesting, I will try to use keyword because I don’t want to bombard you with too much reading, you can at leisure research this for yourself. Before I proceed I just want to say, I believe that throughout the Bible, GOD left clues of the redemption that was to come through JESUS CHRIST it is only that the darkness couldn’t comprehend the light (bulbs).
- The Israelites were told to smear the (red) blood on the door posts right? Exodus 12. (This alone is my favorite evidence).
- Rahab is instructed by the Israelite spies to leave a scarlet (another word for red) rope hanging from her window to ensure the salvation/redemption of her family on the day the Lord would hand over Jericho to Joshua. Prior to this instruction just above in the same text Rahab confesses “For the Lord your GOD is the supreme GOD of the heavens above and the earth below”. Is that not our confession when we receive salvation? Oh hallelujah this is the good news, Joshua 2.
- The initiators of the shepherd’s staff, rod, stick? One Pastor called it “the church of sticks”!
- Way, way later there is the blood (red) of Jesus shed on the cross, John 19, Matthew 27:32, Mark 15..
Those of misdirected zeal interpreted the scarlet rope to be the “law” and started a movement of red threadlike bracelets for their wrists, waists, ankles and so on. Their purpose is to ward off evil, a supposed symbol of redemption power? Why? Because the initiators refused to accept God’s way and created an optional way in misdirected zeal. The misdirected zeal of others who too refuse to accept the truth of GOD’s way took the symbol of the cross and called it a crucifix to be worn around the neck. It too is a symbolic reminder by initiators guided by misdirected zeal when the true requirement is not to believe in the token for deliverance but to believe beyond the cross.
Dear reader of this message, know this to be truth. There is only one mediator between GOD and mankind, JESUS CHRIST the Messiah 1Tim 2:5. JESUS Himself says in John 14:1 “Let not your heart be troubled. Believe in GOD; Believe also in me. You must do this because when you believe in GOD it means you believe that HE IS (exists) and is creator of heaven and earth and is the supreme authority, the source of all truth. When you believe also in Jesus it is because you first believe the truth that states that GOD sent Him, and if you believe that GOD sent Him, you then by faith believe in whole the reason why HE sent JESUS.
In the next message perhaps if it is the will of the Lord we will look at reminding ourselves of the reason why nothing else is necessary to save except the blood of JESUS and why We believe in the the authority of His name.
It takes faith only faith, the evidence of things NOT seen (tangible) Hebrews 11:1!
Today is an opportunity to question the reason behind the deed, to search for the truth beyond reasonable doubt, with guided zeal which is offered to each one of us who believe and to those who yearn for understanding.
