Jesus meek and humble of heart, make our hearts like unto thine.

A Joyous Celebration in the Month of the Sacred Heart

As the Church celebrates the Month of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the Sacred Heart of Jesus Sodality at Our Lady of Fatima Parish gathered in a spirit of faith, gratitude, and fraternity for a special celebration.

The Sodality joyfully welcomed three probationers into the second stage of their probationary journey through the presentation of their crosses, a significant milestone that marks their growing commitment to the spirituality and mission of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

The occasion also provided an opportunity to honour members whose dedication and faithful service have enriched the Sodality over many years. Special recognition was given to members celebrating 10 years and 35 years of membership, acknowledging their steadfast witness and devotion.

In a touching moment of remembrance, the Sodality paid tribute to departed members who have gone before us in faith. Their memories were lovingly celebrated through the presentation of candles to their families, symbolising the light of Christ that continues to shine through their lives and legacy.

The celebration was a beautiful reminder of the enduring call to live the love of the Sacred Heart of Jesus through faith, service, and unity within the parish community.

The Sodality of Masolenyana a Kriste at Our Lady of Fatima Parish recently marked a significant and grace-filled moment in its journey of faith and service. The sodality joyfully welcomed two new members, Bokang Motloung and Sakhile Mali, into its fold. Their acceptance into the sodality reflects a shared commitment to spiritual growth, unity, and dedication to the mission of Christ.

The celebration was further enriched by the formal blessing and introduction of the newly elected executive committee, entrusted with guiding the sodality in the coming term. Leading the team is Chairperson Lithamisanqa Shiyane, supported by Deputy Chairperson Nobuhle Masoeu. The administrative duties will be carried out by Secretary Akhona Buthelezi and Vice Secretary Thando Malupe, while Samukelisiwe Masoeu assumes responsibility as Treasurer. The broader leadership structure is strengthened by Siyanda Hleza serving on the Finance Committee, alongside additional members Minenhle Galo as PRO and Langa Nxumalo overseeing Media.

A highlight of the occasion was the blessing of the sodality’s new flag, a powerful symbol of identity, unity, and renewed purpose. As it was presented and blessed, it stood as a visible reminder of the sodality’s calling to live out their faith boldly and to serve as ambassadors of Christ within the parish and beyond.

This special gathering not only celebrated new beginnings but also reaffirmed the sodality’s commitment to fellowship, leadership, and faithful service. With new members and a dedicated executive team, Masolenyana a Kriste continues to grow as a vibrant and impactful presence within Our Lady of Fatima Parish.

A quiet yet powerful act of love unfolded at Our Lady of Fatima Parish, as members of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Sodality extended a heartfelt gift to the parish altar servers. In a gesture rooted deeply in faith and service, the sodality presented new vestments for use at the altar—an offering that speaks not only to generosity, but to reverence for the sacred liturgy.

The altar servers, who faithfully assist during Mass, embody dedication and humility in their service to God and the Church. By gifting them with new vestments, the sodality affirmed the dignity of their role, reminding both the servers and the wider parish community of the beauty and solemnity of the Eucharistic celebration.

This act of giving reflects the very spirituality of the Sacred Heart—love in action, selfless and attentive to the needs of others. It is through such meaningful contributions that the Church continues to thrive as a living community of care, unity, and shared purpose.

In blessing the altar with these new vestments, the sodality has not only clothed the servers but has also enriched the spiritual life of the parish. It stands as a gentle reminder that even the simplest acts, when done with love, can glorify God and uplift His people.
