Sermon: RENEWING THE TEMPLE OF GOD
Scripture: MATTHEW 2:9-10
Man of God ( Rudzani) delivered a powerful message about renewing the temple of God.
Child of God, have fear for the Lord in your heart, it is important to have fear for the Lord because you will be able to respect his temple and his presence.
○ Women dressing Mordestly
- I Also want the women to dress modestly,with decency and propriety,adorning themselves not with elaborate hairstyles, gold or pearls or expensive clothes, but with good deeds,appropriate for women who profess to worship God ( 1 Timothy 2:9-10).
-As Christians how we look or how we present ourselves in the temple of God matters, And to God himself. Remember when we become God's children at baptism we automatically become his temple. Therefore, we are no longer the owners of our body. Jesus paid the price and consequently owned it,so whatever we do with our body matters to God.
- We must be very careful the way we handle our body, how we behave, think and speak, and what we let into the body through our eyes and ears, what we eat and drink ( 1 Corinthians 6:12-20).
- Children of God, let's not deceive ourselves, they will try to tell you that you look ugly because you don't have a certain things ( Weaves,make-up),just be aware that the person that will say that he/she is suffering from the same spirit of deceivement. Remember you are beautiful at your own way,the moment you try to change yourself into what you are not then you are being deceived by the enemy.
- When you die as a Christian, how you will appear in front of God it is very important, let's always look presentable all the time for we do not know the day, time and for God not to reject us. Brethren the word of God does not come to judge us, however to change us into what the Lord wants us to be.
- A woman play an important role as parent in a way that everything that you do children can be able to copy it or if you are a person who tries to change your appearance they will exactly do the same.
○ Men dressing Mordestly ( Leviticus 21:5)
- There are things that can take us to hell as men,our hairstyles because we are changing the image of God ( the way God created us ).Even piercing the body we have to repent for God to have mercy.
- As Christians let us be careful of what we eat, because we end up eating things that the Lord didn't not authorise it for us to eat, what you eat can change your character, finding it hard to pray and even not to trust God enough.
- We should not have Idols in our lives, we need to have pure hearts, because as Christians we have tendency of hating our oppressors we even find it hard to make or build a relationship with people, that's not love. Remember in God's eyes even in the devils eyes there are Christians and true Christians, true Christians they have love, they are not lazy to read Bible, true Christians they meditate in the word.
-Child of God, have a pure heart, be kind and love your enemies.
Brethren, God has made us stewards and guards of our body, His temple. We must do this job with all sense of seriousness and to become effective guards of God's temple, we must surrender to the leading of the Holy Spirit ( Galatians 5:16-25).
