Summary of the Message
During this third part of the series “Looking Unto Jesus,” Pastor Josué emphasized the importance of keeping our eyes fixed on Christ in every season of life. Drawing from Hebrews 12:2–4, the congregation was reminded that Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith, and our spiritual stability depends on maintaining our focus on Him.
The message outlined key reasons why believers must continually look unto Jesus:
1. Our Eyes on Jesus — Not on What We Do for Him
We must not become so focused on the work of God that we forget the God of the work. Service should never replace relationship. The Master must remain greater than the mission.
2. Our Eyes on Jesus — Not on Spiritual Gifts
Spiritual gifts are tools, not the source. Our focus must remain on Christ, not on manifestations, talents, or abilities. (Psalm 107:9)
3. Our Eyes on Jesus — As Long as We Remain on Earth
Our dependence on Christ is lifelong. As Psalm 25:15 reminds us, our eyes must continually be toward the Lord.
4. Our Eyes on Jesus — Not on Our Position
Whether in church or in society, titles and positions must never become our focus. In Acts 3:11–16, Peter redirected the people’s attention from himself to Jesus, showing that all glory belongs to Christ.
5. Our Eyes on Jesus — Not on Our Brothers and Sisters
Even the best among us are human. People may disappoint or forsake us (2 Timothy 4:10), but Christ remains faithful. Our trust must be anchored in Him alone.
6. Our Eyes on Jesus — Not on Our Enemies
We are not called to fixate on opposition. Our focus should remain on Christ, who strengthens and defends us.
