This week, the GSE campaign specifically recognises the challenges faced by feminine q***r men in our church. The question for the church then becomes: As the church, do we hate gay men or do we just hate femininity? Why do we choose to exclude and alienate feminine men just because they don't conform to our idealised ideas of what it means to be a male in terms of speech, mannerism, behaviour, and appearance? Does their femininity imply that they are ungrateful for the privilege of being a male? They were born into a patriarchal society; why waste such a privilege? Is that it? What is it about the mere existence of these beings that makes us so uncomfortable?🏳️🌈❤️
