Good morning, beloved brethren
# Bo***ge Breaker!
"I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bo***ge."
Exodus 20:2 KJV
After 430 years of being enslaved in Egypt, the Israelites were rescued by God and were brought out from Egypt to sojourn into the promised land. For all those years, and generations upon generations, the Israelites were made to think like slaves. But that is not what God intended for His people's identity. So, with a mighty hand, He brought them out of Egypt and established them as His people; He gave them His Ten Commandments. His people must obey and know that He is the Lord, their God, Who rescued them from slavery in Egypt. This is more than just a historical reference, but it emphasizes God's power, love, and grace that changes lives. By His great love, we have been redeemed from the clutches of sin and death through the sacrifice of Christ.
Beloved, for God's people, this verse reminds us that before we can even live in obedience to God, we must remember, acknowledge, and be grateful that Christ rescued us from the bo***ge of sin and gave us new life. Whenever we are challenged by sin, we must remember what God has done for us. Obedience may be difficult, but as we embrace the perspective of love, obeying God becomes an act of gratitude, not a mere obligation. shalom,
