Dying to self is not erasure—it’s restoration. God never intended for you to disappear; He intended for you to be revealed. When Scripture calls us to deny ourselves, it’s not asking us to abandon our purpose, personality, or calling—it’s inviting us to lay down the false layers we picked up through pain, fear, pride, trauma, and survival.

The “self” that must die is the counterfeit one:
• the version shaped by wounds instead of wisdom,
• driven by ego instead of obedience,
• striving for approval instead of resting in identity,
• reacting in fear instead of responding in faith.

When that version dies, the real you finally lives.

Jesus said, “Whoever loses their life for My sake will find it”
(Matthew 16:25).
