II Corinthians 5:7
[7]For we walk by faith, not by sight.

Sight tells me that "I'm still in pain", but faith, tells me that by the stripes of Jesus Christ, "I was healed". Also, sight tells me that the problem is still there, but faith says it's gone. That's what real faith is all about, and if worked out properly, it never fails to produce the desired results!!

Hebrews 11:1
[1]To have faith is . . . . , to be certain of the things we cannot see.

In the book of Revelation, we read that Jesus appeared in a vision to John on the Isle of Patmos, giving him a message to one of the churches, and that message was "Hold that fast which thou hast" [Revelation 3:11]. Hold fast to your faith in His Word. You have your part to play, for there is a man-ward side and a God-ward side to every battle and every victory. God promised the children of Israel the land of Canaan, but on the same token, He also said, "Every place whereon the soles of your feet shall tread shall be yours ..." [Deuteronomy 11:24]. In essence, He said, "I'm going to give it to you, but you will have to take possession of it." The word "believe" is a verb—an action word. To believe in a Biblical sense means "to take" or "to grasp." To believe Jesus means to take Him for all that the Scriptures declare Him to be.

"MESSAGE TITLE -: "YOUR NEW IDENTITY IN CHRIST!"

Psalm 87:3
[3]Glorious things are spoken of thee, O city of God. Selah.

There’re many beautiful and glorious descriptions of the new creation in the Scriptures. It’s one of the reasons you must study the Bible to know more about the glorious things spoken and written of you in the Word. What name has God called you? Answer that name, for you’ll cheat yourself if you don’t.

In Genesis 17:5, God spoke to Abram and said, “Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.” “Abram” meant exalted father, but God had a different plan for him and called him the “father of many nations.”

Abraham immediately adjusted to his new reality and identity, introducing himself by his new name. Some must have made jest of Abraham when he changed his name. Recall also that Sarah, his wife was barren; another hopeless case.

But Abraham was fully persuaded by God’s Word and called himself what God had called him. In the same way, you have to learn to agree with God and His Word. Accept your new identity and reality in Christ. He’s called you holy, righteous, prosperous, victorious, more than a conqueror, etc. Walk-in agreement with God, with His description and perception of you.

When Paul wanted to address the Christians at Ephesus, he referred to them as saints, and the faithful (Ephesians 1:1). That’s your description as well. If you aren’t a saint, then it means you’re not born again, because saints are those who are born again. In Colossians 1:22, He calls you holy, unblameable and unreproveable. Accept and walk in the light of these truths and you’ll be ever productive in your faith-walk of righteousness.

WELCOME TO APRIL OUR MONTH OF "IN CHRIST" REALITIES"

There are multitudes of truths and realities for the born-again believer; the person who is in Christ. It builds our faith when we revisit those realities regularly. In this month, we're going to be discovering those things that are ours in Christ. Jesus died for us to walk in these realities, so it is important for us to reflect on them and walk in these realities.

"DON'T BE GULLIBLE: JUDGE ALL VISIONS, PROPHECIES AND REVELATIONS IN LIGHT WITH THE WORD OF GOD"

1 Corinthians 14:29
[29]“Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others judge.”

Sometimes, people receive what they claim to be visions, prophecies or revelations from the Lord without scrutinising such in light of God’s Word. They don’t take the time to check whether they are consistent with the written Word of God. Every revelation must be consistent with the revealed Word of God.

For example, a certain man had a vision. He had been a Christian for many years, but he became sick. While on his sick bed, he had a vision where someone, wearing sandals and a dazzling white robe, covered with a cloud, accompanied by an approachable light walked into the room. He started looking from the person’s feet upwards to see who it was. As he did so, the man spoke up and said, “It’s not my will to heal you,” and disappeared.

He believed it was Jesus because he said he felt the presence of God in the room. Hence, he accepted that it wasn’t the will of God to heal him, and began telling others how it wasn’t God’s will for him to be healed. That couldn’t be Jesus! None of that “dazzling white robe” or “white cloud” is enough for anyone to assume it was Jesus. If you’re told something that’s inconsistent with the Scripture, then it’s questionable; "YOU HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO REJECT IT."

This is something many people are ignorant concerning. God’s will is clearly expressed in the Scriptures: God wants you well [3 John 1:2]. He’ll never contradict His Word. So, if the voice you’re hearing contradicts the Word of God, that’s a demon talking to you, irrespective of the appearance.

Moreover, we’re warned in scriptures not to be deceived, because even Satan disguises himself to be an angel of light [2 Corinthians 11:14]. Every revelation and prophecy must then therefore be subjected to the Word of God! Don’t accept it just because you saw a vision or because you got it from someone whom you think is spiritual; judge it by the Word!

John 21:6
[6]“And He said to them, “Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.” So they cast, and now they were not able to draw it in because of the multitude of fish.”

The Lord Jesus appeared to His disciples many times after His resurrection. On one of such occasions,

He appeared to them when they were returning from an unsuccessful fishing expedition. The disciples, who had gone back to fishing, had toiled all night at sea and caught nothing. When Jesus appeared to them in the morning, He asked them if they caught anything, but their reply was negative. Jesus then said to them, “…Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find…” [John 21:6].

If there was one place in all the waters where the disciples weren’t expected to find any fish, it was definitely around their ship as they had troubled that spot all night long. The fishes ought to have fled from there. But the Bible says “…they threw the net out and could not pull it back in, because they had caught so many fish” [John 21:6 GNB]. Now, the big question is: “Where did all the fish come from?” I’ll tell you that they came from the Word of the Master!

The Bible says, *“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen…By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible”* [Hebrews 11:1,3]. Those fishes were framed by the Word of God, glory to the Living God!

If Jesus is the Lord of your life, happy are you; you’ll live a life free of worries, knowing that His words can frame things into being in your life. All you need do is discover what He has said about you from the Bible and begin to appropriate it to yourself. That way you’ll effect any change you desire in your health, family, academics, or character, and you’ll never be disadvantaged in life.

I’m a product of God’s Word. My life is full of rest for I know the Word of God upholds me. I will never lack in my life as God’s Word is able to provide for me everything I require to be a success.
