A Wake-Up Call for Africa
The global economy is shaking.
Conflicts in the Middle East are not just regional — they affect oil prices, trade, food costs, and the daily lives of ordinary people across the world.
And as always…
the poor suffer first.
While leaders debate and powerful nations position themselves, it is the ordinary citizen — in Africa, in the Middle East, everywhere — who feels the pressure.
Let’s be honest.
The tensions between Israel and Iran did not start today.
For years, Iran’s leadership has taken a hostile stance toward Israel, while Israel sees this as a direct threat to its existence.
That fear — whether one agrees with it or not — shapes how Israel responds.
At the same time, conflicts in the region are complex.
They involve history, power, security, and competing interests — not just one simple narrative.
But here is the lesson for Africa:
When global powers fight, Africa feels the consequences without controlling the outcome.
Fuel prices rise.
Food becomes expensive.
Economies weaken.
Yet Africa is rich in resources.
So we must ask ourselves:
Why are we always affected…
but rarely prepared?
Why do we depend so much on global systems we do not control?
Why do our resources not protect our people from global shocks?
This is not just about the Middle East.
It is about Africa’s future.
We need:
Strong economies
Independent systems
Accountable leadership
Value addition to our own resources
Because in times of global crisis, self-reliance becomes survival.
History shows that nations act to protect themselves.
And perhaps that is the hardest truth:
Every nation fights for its survival.
The question is — will Africa do the same for its people?
