THE SIGNIFICANCE OF JESUS' GLORIFICATION

on the 16th of Feb, Ps Mthethwa speaks about how Jesus acknowledges that his time for glorification has come. The metaphor of the kernel of wheat beautifully illustrates that true life often comes through death; it's a call to let go of our earthly attachments in order to embrace eternal life. When Jesus says that those who serve him must follow him, he invites us into a deeper relationship with him by selflessness and devotion.

Serving Christ may involve challenges and sacrifices, but it also leads to honour from the father and abundant spiritual fruitfulness. 🤍✝️

STAND FIRM!

On the 2nd of Feb, Ps Mthethwa teaches on Matthew 4:1-11, which reminds us to rely on scripture in our time of need. When the tempter came to Jesus, he challenged him to turn stones into bread, jump from the temple and worship him in exchange for all the kingdoms of the world, but each time Jesus responded with scripture, affirming his trust in God's provision and authority. Jesus stood firm against temptation by quoting scripture which emphasises his devotion to God alone.

Consult With the Lord.

on the 26th of Jan, Ps Mthethwa emphasised the importance of consulting with God. In 2 kings 3:1-19, King Jehoram of Israel aligns himself with King Jehoshaphat of Judah and the king of Edom to confront the Moabites, who had rebelled against Israel. As they march into battle, they find themselves in a dire situation without water for their troops and animals and this leads Jehoram to despair, questioning whether God has brought them out there just to perish. King Jehoshaphat suggests seeking a prophet of the lord.

They call upon Elisha, who declares that God will provide for them.

This passage emphasises the importance of seeking God's guidance in times of trouble and recognizing our need for his provision. It illustrates God's provision and faithfulness even when we face seemingly impossible situations. It encourages us to take steps of faith while trusting in his promises.

Fasting and prayer

On the 19th of January, Ps Mthethwa emphasizes that when we fast , it should be a private matter between us and God, not for show, as shown in Matthew 6:16-18. It is also encouraged that we ought to anoint our heads and wash our faces so that we appear normal to others, focusing on our relationship with him rather than seeking human approval.

This passage reminds us that true devotion comes from sincerity and humility.

In Nehemiah 1:1-11, it is shown that Nehemiah is concrened deeply for Jerusalem and shares a heartfelt prayer to God. He acknowledges the sins of israel both his oen and those of his people and earnestly seeks God's favor to help restore the city. His humility and commitment to prayer highlight the importance of seeking God's guidance in times of ditress.

It is encouraged that we bring our burdens before God, trusting that he hears our prayers.❤️

POWER TUESDAY!!!

on the 14th of Jan 2025, Ps Mthethwa reminds us of God's guidance and care; how God leads us to restful places, restores our souls and walks with us through the wilderness, filling us with peace and confidence. When we trust in him as our shepherd, we find comfort no matter what challenges come our way.❤️✝️

06/06/2025

On the 12th of January, Ps Mthethwa spoke about 2 Samuel 9:6-11.

Context of the verse:
- After David became king, he sought to show loyalty to Saul's family, especially to Johnathan's son, Mephibosheth, who was crippled.

Verse 6 shows Mephibosheth, humbly acknowledging his unworthiness when David calls him. Despite his fears, David's kindness shines through- he restores Mephibosheth's inheritance and invites him to dine at the king's table. This serves as a reminder of God's grace. He reaches out to us in our humility and offers us restoration and love, no matter our past.

Verse 7-8 reflects on King David's kindness to Mephibosheth, showing grace despite his circumstances. David restores his family's inheritance and invites him to dine at the king's table- an act of mercy and love

Verse 9-11, King David shows incredible kindness by restoring Saul's family land and inviting Mephibosheth to eat at his table regularly.

God's love is unconditional. He restores and blesses us not because of our worthiness but because of his mercy. ❤✝️
