God has been wonderful to us this year and we have had great moments in His presence in our evenings of praise and worship; our exam prayers; our bible study wednesdays; worship fridays and our sunday services. Though we faced some challenges along the way but God has pulled us out with His loving hands. We visited families in their times of need; we prayed ; we did one on one evangelism all by the power of His mighty. We are so grateful to God for His mercy

*WHAT WAS THE EXCITEMENT ALL ABOUT*

2 Peter 1:2-11

Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
Fruitful Growth in the Faith
But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. 1. *THAT OUR HEAVY BURDEN OF SIN, GUILT & SHAME WAS LIFTED*

PROPHETS (Which ones to follow &which ones to run away from)

To demystify the topic we first have to point out what DOES NOT constitute a true measure of a Godly Prophet. The term prophet is so generic in the scriptures, it is not necessarily always used in reference to Godly people.

Our generation has held hostage of many shenanigans for lack of a simple Biblical yardstick. While there is a steady rise of credible servants of the Spirit, they are often overshadowed and their ministry brought into disrepute because of the horrendous acts of reprobates and syncretists whose fast impending damnation is sure.

1. ACCURACY IN PREDICTION IS THE MEASURE OF A PROPHET TO FOLLOW.

Deuteronomy 13:1-4
"If a prophet, or one who foretells by dreams, appears among you and announces to you a sign or wonder, and if the sign or wonder spoken of TAKES PLACE, and the prophet says, “Let us follow other gods” (gods you have not known) “and let us worship them,” YOU MUST NOT LISTEN TO THE WORDS OF THAT PROPHET or dreamer. The Lord your God is testing you to find out whether you love him with all your heart and with all your soul. It is the Lord your God you must follow, and him you must revere. Keep his commands and obey him; serve him and hold fast to him.”

FROM THE PASSAGE ABOVE WE GATHER THAT:

1. The predictions do actually take place.
2. The 'accurate' prophet can still mislead people away from GOD. Therefore accuracy by itself is neither a measure of Godliness nor credibility.
3. The misleading accurate prophet is a TEST to see if people's hearts will actually follow GOD ONLY!

There are many people who say, I don't care where the help emanates from, as long as I get my problem solved. Such people are always in danger of falling into binding long term satanic covenants that offer Temporary relief in exchange for an open door into one's life for generations. The sacrifice is not worth the relief.

2. SIGNS AND WONDERS ARE NOT A MEASURE OF A TRUE MAN OF GOD OR PROPHET.

Mark 13:22-23 “For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. So be on your guard; I have told you everything ahead of time.”

3. THE MENTION OR USE OF THE NAME OF JESUS INOT A CONCLUSIVE MARK OF A TRUE PROPHET.

Matthew 7:22-23 “Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy IN YOUR NAME and IN YOUR NAME drive out demons and IN YOUR NAME perform many miracles?’” Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’”

So, if accuracy of prediction, the prevalence of signs and wonders and the mention of GOD or the use of the Name of JESUS are NOT conclusive marks of a Godly prophet...Then what is?

How are we to know who’s worthy of our ears and support / following?

 WHAT IS?
 HOW ARE WE TO KNOW WHO'S WORTHY OF OUR EARS AND SUPPORT?

HOW TO IDENTIFY A GODLY PROPHET

1. A PRAYERFUL AND CONSECRATED LIFE.

James 5:17-18 “Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and HE PRAYED EARNESTLY that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months. And HE PRAYED AGAIN, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit.”

2. A PROPHETIC FOCUS THAT GLORIFIES GOD'S VIEWPOINT. GLORY TO GOD – NOT TO THE PROPHET!

Ezekiel 37:7 “So I prophesied AS I WAS COMMANDED. And as I was prophesying, there was a noise, a rattling sound, and the bones came together, bone to bone.” Ezekiel 37:10 ”So I prophesied AS HE COMMANDED me, and breath entered them; they came to life and stood up on their feet—a vast army.”

Jeremiah 19:14
“Jeremiah then returned from Topheth, WHERE THE LORD HAD SENT him TO PROPHESY, and stood in the court of the Lord’s temple and said to all the people.”

NB. NOT as people demanded - prophesy! Go deeper!

3. A PROPHETIC EXPERIENCES THAT ARE LIFE CHANGING.

1 Samuel 10:6
“The Spirit of the Lord will come powerfully upon you, and you will prophesy with them; and YOU WILL BE CHANGED into a different person.”

4. A PROPHETIC WORD THAT EXPOSES WHAT IS FAKE AND ELEVATE THE GENUINE.

Jeremiah 23:28
“Let these false prophets tell their dreams, but let my true messengers faithfully proclaim my every word. THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN STRAW AND GRAIN!

4.1. A genuine Prophetic ministry will always have a final say even over the popular and well received. E.g. Jeremiah vs Hananiah

Jeremiah 28
“And it happened in the same year, at the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the fourth year and in the fifth month, that Hananiah the son of Azur THE PROPHET, who was from Gibeon, spoke to me IN THE HOUSE OF THE LORD in the presence of the priests and of all the people, saying, “Thus speaks the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, saying: ‘I have broken the yoke of the king of Babylon. Within two full years I will bring back to this place all the vessels of the Lord's house, that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon took away from this place and carried to Babylon. And I will bring back to this place Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, with all the captives of Judah who went to Babylon,’ says the Lord, ‘for I will break the yoke of the king of Babylon.’ ” Then the prophet Jeremiah spoke to the prophet Hananiah in the presence of the priests and in the presence of all the people who stood in the house of the Lord, and the prophet Jeremiah SAID, “AMEN! The Lord do so; the Lord perform your words which you have prophesied, to bring back the vessels of the Lord's house and all who were carried away captive, from Babylon to this place. Nevertheless hear now this word that I speak in your hearing and in the hearing of all the people: The prophets who have been before me and before you of old prophesied against many countries and great kingdoms—of war and disaster and pestilence. As for the prophet who prophesies of peace, when the word of the prophet comes to pass, the prophet will be known as one whom the Lord has truly sent.” Then Hananiah the prophet took the yoke off the prophet Jeremiah's neck and broke it. And Hananiah spoke in the presence of all the people, saying, “Thus says the Lord: ‘Even so I will break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon from the neck of all nations within the space of two full years.’ ” And the prophet Jeremiah WENT HIS WAY. Now the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, after Hananiah the prophet had broken the yoke from the neck of the prophet Jeremiah, saying, “Go and tell Hananiah, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord: “You have broken the yokes of wood, but you have made in their place yokes of iron.” For thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: “I have put a yoke of iron on the neck of all these nations, that they may serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon; and they shall serve him. I have given him the beasts of the field also.” ’ ” Then the prophet Jeremiah said to Hananiah the prophet, “Hear now, Hananiah, THE LORD HAS NOT SENT YOU, BUT YOU MAKE THIS PEOPLE TRUST A LIE. Therefore thus says the Lord: ‘Behold, I will cast you from the face of the earth. This year you shall die, because you have TAUGHT REBELLION AGAINST THE LORD.’ ” So Hananiah the prophet died the same year in the seventh month.”

OBSERVATIONS
1. The Bible does validate that he was indeed a prophet.
2. This prophet spoke from church.
3. Jeremiah even said Amen to his prophecies.
4. He was not sent.
5. He caused people to believe a lie.
6. Deliberate, willful.

5. CAREFUL, EVEN THE TRUSTED AMONG PEOPLE CAN BE BOUGHT TO INTIMIDATE AND INSTILL FEAR - THE OPPOSITE OF GOD PLEASING FAITH.

Nehemiah 6:10-13
One day I went to the house of Shemaiah son of Delaiah, the son of Mehetabel, who was shut in at his home. He said, “Let us meet in the house of God, inside the temple, and let us close the temple doors, because men are coming to kill you—by night they are coming to kill you.” But I said, “Should a man like me run away? Or should someone like me go into the temple to save his life? I will not go!” I REALIZED THAT GOD HAD NOT SENT HIM, BUT THAT HE HAD PROPHESIED AGAINST ME BECAUSE Tobiah and Sanballat HAD HIRED HIM, He had been hired to intimidate me so that I would commit a sin by doing this, and then they would give me a bad name to discredit me.

OBSERVATIONS.

1. He was shut in - pretended to prayerful an separated to GOD
2. The address for the proposed meeting was religiously attractive
3. The warning looked credible - Nehemiah had enemies
4. DISCERNMENT!!!!
5. Hired to intimidate - spiritual intimidation is serious
6. Intention - Bad name - discredit / dent your reputation

1. CONCERNING LIFE:

LEADER:

Deuteronomy 30:19 “I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you LIFE and death, blessing and cursing; therefore CHOOSE LIFE, that both you and your descendants may live;”

1.1. I CHOOSE LIFE.

LEADER:

John 10:10 “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have LIFE, and that they may have it MORE ABUNDANTLY.”

CONGREGATION:

“I choose ABUNDANT LIFE. I choose to live under the Blessing. Scarcity is not my lot. I resist all marginalisation. shortage, shrinkage or loss.”

LEADER:

Proverbs 18:21 “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it shall eat the fruit of it”.

CONGREGATION:

My tongue shall speak life. I LOVE LIFE. The fruit of my lips shall be nothing but life, wisdom and peace

1 Peter 3:10 “For, “Whoever would love life and see good days must keep their tongue from evil and their lips from deceitful speech.” JEHOVAH WILL FULFIL THE NUMBER OF MY DAYS.

A full life span is my portion. Destiny robbers are denied. Premature death and miscarriage I firmly resist.

I'm Excited about Life I'm Determined to LIVE I'm Undeterred by trials I'm Grateful for Abundant Life I recognise all trouble as temporary and outweighed by the GLORY OF GOD I see every valley as a walk through NO trouble is permanent in my life NO shadow to deep for GOD'S GLORY to reach.

DECLARATIONS 2018 with thanksgiving

1. This is my declaration by Faith Believing in JESUS NAME! I am a Child of the MOST HIGH An Heir of The Father - Joint Heir with JESUS am Sanctified - set apart for GOD'S HOLY and Eternal Purposes

2. In 2018 I am Focused and Fruitful! I do not concern myself with trivial pursuits I am not distracted by enemy schemes, I press on towards The Goal - To please my GOD in all I do!

3. I Boldly DECLARE! The Blood covers my family! I'm an overcomer in all situations. Praise shall not be scarce on my lips and I'm cleansed continually, qualified to appear before GOD!

4. I have Power to generate wealth - Resourses to fulfill my responsibilities and assignment shall freely flow towards me. I have Favour with all relevant persons towards my destiny. I'm surrounded with Favour as with a Shield!

5. in 2018 my mind is in perfect peace - I'm guarded and guided by God's peace. Circumstances do not shake me! I'm anchored in Jehovah! My feet do not slip, my steps are ordered.

6. I have the Mind Of CHRIST! I recognize opportunities and I Maximize every Moment. I am productive - my work is fruitful and not Frustrating. Progress, Increase and Greatness are constantly evident around me. Goodness and Mercy always following - Whatever I do Prospers. Wealth and Honour are in my house!

7. In 2018. My night turns into Day, Even in Darkness Light Dawns for me. My Path shines ever Brighter till full light of day! I arise, I keep shinning! I'm a Wonder. I Radiate with the Glory of GOD.

8. Stagnation fears me! Ignorance is shattered in every Service. I'm open to revelation, wisdom and fresh insights. I grow From Glory to Glory. A Sound mind is my portion! I'm energetic, I'm helpful, I'm a Pleasant Companion to those around me.

9. I am the Healed the devil Cannot keep sick. My Body Carries the Presence of JESUS! Premature death is far from me! I shall not die - but LIVE and DECLARE the Works of The LORD! By HIS Stripes I have been healed.

10. I'm a Member of GOD'S Household. I bear my FATHER'S NAME and Image! I'm Royalty, Angels serve me well. A table is Prepared before me. Lack is put to shame in my life! I have a share in the Covenants of Promise! I dine with the KING!

11. In 2018. Household Salvations are Fast and Forcefully becoming a reality! My Relatives shall escape GOD'S eternal wrath through the Gospel. I Boldly DECLARE! The blindfolds of sin, deception and procrastination are ripped off from their eyes!

12. All destructive forces such as drunkenness, Promiscuity, po*******hy, addictions of every type and the limiting claims and chains of ancestral covenants Bow to the Voice of Righteousness in CHRIST! Despair exits my surroundings!

13. In 2018 I Accelerate in all good things! I Do Not slow down! I will not backslide! I stand on the Rock Higher than my enemies.

14. Restoration, Recovery and Revival pursue me. I reach higher heights in Gentleness in Generosity in all Godliness!

15. Past Patterns of Failure have no place in my life! The anointing upon me breaks all yokes of bo***ge and limitation! My desires, my prayers and my plans in GOD are becoming a delightful breakthrough! My Promotions are swift and significant.

16. In 2018 I'm an influence! I'm a trend setter, the Head and not the tail. I walk in honour Integrity and LOVE. I'm unstoppable and unshakable. I'm alert and sensitive to the voice of The HOLY SPIRIT. I have favour with GOD and man.

17. All forms of demonic activity, manipulations and witchcraft against me, my work and our church are nullified and rendered powerless and ineffective. No delays, derailments or denials are tolerated! - None of his weapons prevail! The LORD perfects everything that concerns me.

I gladly receive the abundant Grace provided.

2. INDEED I HOLD ROYAL OFFICE - I RULE BY ROYAL DECREE - BACKED BY JESUS THE KING OF KINGS.

1 Peter 2:9 KJV
But ye are a CHOSEN GENERATION, a ROYAL PRIESTHOOD, a HOLY NATION, a PECULIAR PEOPLE (exclusively belonging to); that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath CALLED YOU OUT OF darkness INTO his marvelous light:

I am royalty
I am chosen
I am precious in HIS SIGHT
I am the apple of HIS eye
I hold Priesthood office
My Prayers and Sacrifices matter
They make a difference
I exclusively belong to GOD
I been Bought with HIS Precious Blood
I am a treasured Possession
I have been CALLED OUT of darkness
I don't Belong there anymore
My mind has light
My ways are in the light
Darkness and its works have no power over me
Darkness is defeated in my life
Darkness has no share in my destiny
I do not submit to works and forces of darkness

3. I HAVE BEEN RESCUED, REDEEMED AND FORGIVEN, BY GOD FROM DARKNESS TO LIVE IN THE LIGHT.

HE has DELIVERED US from the power of darkness and CONVEYED US into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have REDEMPTION THROUGH HIS BLOOD, the forgiveness of sins.

DAY 9 PRAYER SUPPLEMENT
FOCUS ON PRAYING FOR DESIRES

Mark 11:24 KJV
Therefore I say unto you, What things so ever ye DESIRE, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

DESIRE. DEF: a strong feeling of wanting to have something or for something to happen.

Desires drive all activity. It is the desires within that cause people to wake up and work. The strong feeling of wanting to have. We study because of the desire to achieve and to be. Desire is good when it emanates from pure motives. Good desires must be nurtured and protected. The direction of desires will determine where the strengths will be spent. The strength of desires will determine the force of pursuit.

PRAYERS - DESIRES AND THEIR DRIVING FORCE.

1. WHEN DESIRES ARE GOOD PRAYERS ARE PURE AND THE FUTURE HOLDS GREAT PROMISE.

Psalms 37:4-5
Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the DESIRES of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And HE SHALL BRING IT TO PASS.

2. THEY ARE A REFLECTION OF OUR INCLINATIONS - OUR WIRING

1 Kings 8:57-58 NKJV
May the Lord our God be with us, as He was with our fathers. May He not leave us nor forsake us, that He may incline our hearts to Himself, to walk in all His ways, and to keep His commandments and His statutes and His judgments, which He commanded our father.

May he give us the DESIRE to do his will in everything and to obey all the commands, decrees, and regulations that he gave our ancestors.

3. GOD CONSIDERS INCLINATIONS EVEN BEFORE ACTIONS.

Genesis 6:5-6 NIV
The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time.

The Lord regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled.

The Lord observed the extent of human wickedness on the earth, and he saw that everything they thought or imagined was consistently and totally evil.

So the Lord was sorry he had ever made them and put them on the earth. It broke his heart.

4. THEY ARE THE TRUE TEST OF OUR HEARTS.

Jeremiah 17:10 NIV
“I the Lord search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve.”

Psalms 139:23-24
Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

5. DESIRES ARE THE FORCE BEHIND FORCEFUL PRAYERS.

Therefore I say unto you, what things so ever ye DESIRE, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

To ask earnestly, the prayers must be from a deep desire to see results. That's what GOD rewards in prayer. Often people just mention issues in prayer, religiously so, with no apparent burning desire to see change. When Hannah prayed with deep desire, Eli came and his pronouncement was honored by GOD. Samuel was born. Earnestness is without question, a prerequisite for prayers that prevail

Hebrews 11:6
And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

Hebrews 11:6 AMP
But without faith it is impossible to please and be satisfactory to Him. For whoever would come near to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He is the rewarder of those who earnestly and diligently seek Him [out].
