JESUS CHRIST IS THE TRUE FOUNDATION OF THE CHURCH

BIBLE READING: PSALM 11:3; ISAIAH 28:16; MATTHEW 16:13-19

"For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, Which is Jesus Christ." 1 Corinthians 3:11(NKJV)

The Church of Jesus Christ our Lord was established upon the Foundation of the Lord Jesus Himself. This is a Truth and Reality which is echoed in the iconic and timeless words of the Christian Baptist songwriter and clergyman, Rev Edward Mote resonating in his famous Gospel Hymn written in 1834: "On Christ the Solid Rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand...." What a Sacred and Glorious Revelation this is indeed! All other ground, including mere religion, humanistic ideologies, and philosophies, is sinking sand. The Lord Jesus Christ is the Undisputed Bedrock and Foundation of every single individual Christian believer as well as the Entire Church.

During the Latter Phase of His Earthly Ministry, the Lord asked His Disciples in Caesarea-Philippi, who men said He was, which led to Peter catching the Revelation of Christ Jesus as the Son of God. In His Response to the latter, Jesus said, "On this Rock I will build My Church..." Matt. 16:18(NKJV). In other words, the Revelation of His Identity as the Son of God and the Anointed One serves as the Foundation of the Body of Christ. Always remember that there is no other foundation that can be laid apart from Him (1Cor. 3:11). Even the Apostle Paul in his Epistle to the Church in Ephesus reminded us that the Church is built upon the Foundations of the Apostles and Prophets with Jesus Christ Himself being the Chief Cornerstone (Eph. 2:20).

Anchored upon this Hallowed Truth, there is a serious need for all Authentic Christian believers to become Christo-Centric in everything because Jesus isn't just our Foundation but He is also the Pivot around Whom our very lives revolve. We must have a very Deep and Comprehensive Revelation of the following Seven Aspects of the Lord as our Foundation:

(1.) The Divinity of Jesus Christ: (1Tim. 3:16a) This affirms the Truth of Him being God. Hence, Worthy of our Worship.

(2.) The Humanity of Jesus Christ: (Heb.4:15) This emphasizes the Truth of Him being the Son of Man born from the womb of a mortal.

(3.) The Ministry of Jesus Christ: (Acts 10:38) This is a Reflection of His Giftings and Callings being deployed through His Assignment.

(4.) The Passion of Jesus Christ: (Heb.5:7-8) This talks about His Suffering from Gethsemane to Hades during the Passion Week.

(5.) The Resurrection of Jesus Christ:(1Cor. 15:3-4) This points to His Ultimate Victory of death that couldn't hold Him Captive.

(6.) The Glorification of Jesus Christ: (Phil. 2:8-11) This focuses on His Coronation as King of kings and Lord of lords.

(7.) The Second Advent of Jesus Christ: (Rev.22:12, 20) This reveals to us His Second Coming after the Tribulation.

PRAYER:

Heavenly Father, to You alone do we ascribe all the Glory, Honour and Praise. O Lord, please grant us a Thorough Comprehension of our Lord Jesus Christ as the Sole Foundation of our lives in Jesus' Mighty Name. Amen.

ABBA FATHER: RELATIONSHIP VS RESPONSIBILITY

BIBLE READING: JEREMIAH 31:3; MARK 14:35-41; ROMANS 8:14-17; GALATIANS 4:1-7

"And because you [really] are [His] sons, God has sent the [Holy] Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying “Abba [Father]! Father!” Galatians 4:6 (Amplified Bible)

The Lord God Almighty is the Omnipotent One Who is Multifaceted and Multidimensional in both His Personality and Functionality as seen clearly throughout the entire Holy Bible (Gen. 1:26). However, the Concept of His Fatherhood appeared rather strange and out of place to His Chosen people Israel. Simply put, God was never referred to by the Term "Father" by the Jews throughout the Old Testament. In his Epistle to the Church in Galatia, Apostle Paul emphasized the fact that the Israelites, despite having a Covenant Relationship with the Lord through Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, related with Him more like slaves or bondservants rather than as True sons (Gal. 4:30-31). But thanks be to God, the Lord Jesus Christ Himself changed that misleading narrative during His Incarnation: He prayed to God not just as His Father but He also moved a step further to use the intimate childlike term or endearment "Abba" which had never been attempted by anyone before according to the Sacred Documentation of the Ancient Hebrew Rabbis (Matt. 6:9-13).

During the Passion Week, specifically in the Garden of Gethsemane, the Lord Jesus yielded His Own Will to the Sovereign Will of God the Father: "Abba! Father! All things are possible for You; remove this Cup from Me, yet not what I Will but what You Will" Mk. 14:36 (NASB). The Aramaic word "Abba" was an expression of intimacy often used by children towards their fathers as a term of endearment. It was an intimate and affectionate way in which a young child would address his father, quite similar to "Daddy", our more familiar contemporary term of endearment (Isa. 49:14-16). It is basically an invitation to partake fully of His Paternal Love and Care towards us.

Through the Coming of the Holy Spirit, the Lord Jesus commissioned us as His people to use the same intimate language He used to communicate with the Father. We must always remember that He not only has a Responsibility towards us as our "Father" but also a Relationship with us as our "Daddy." We have been invited to cast our cares upon Him because we know He cares for us as our Daddy, not just as our Father (1Pet. 5:7). May the Lord God Almighty help us draw closer to Him through the Childlike Love spread within our hearts by His Spirit. Shalom. (Rom. 5:5)

PRAYER:

Heavenly Father, we pray that You grant us a Deeper Revelation of You as our Daddy. O Lord, please cause us to desire a Stronger Relationship with You in Jesus' Mighty Name. Amen.

RELEASING AUTHENTIC SONS AS ARROWS

BIBLE READING: 2KINGS 13:14-17; ISAIAH 49:2; EZEKIEL 39:3

"Behold, children are a Heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one's youth. Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them. They shall not be ashamed but shall speak with their enemies in the gate" Psalm 127:3-5 (NKJV).

Comprehending the Divinely Ordained Relationship, which exists between fathers and their sons, makes it necessary to utilize word pictures. For example, using the analogy of archery as implied by our Key Scriptural Text, fathers are likened to bows and mothers are likened to quivers while sons are arrows. The Holy Bible gives a record of the first group of soldiers who pledged their Undivided Loyalty to King David and helped build up his army while King Saul tried to kill him. They were Benjamites, Saul's own kinsmen: "Now these were the men who came to David at Ziklag while he was still a fugitive from Saul the son of Kish; and they were among the mighty men, helpers in the war, Armed with bows, using both the right hand and left in hurling stones and SHOOTING ARROWS WITH THE BOW. They were of Benjamin, Saul's brethren" (1Chron. 12:1-2). Carefully consider the phrase "shooting arrows with the bow." In every form of conventional warfare, arrows are unable to guarantee Power, Precision, and Pe*******on on their own without the bow.

The Holy Scriptures state that King Jehu, while executing Divine Judgment on the dynasty of King Ahab and promoting reformation in the Northern kingdom of Israel, channeled all his strength through his bow which then unleashed the arrow that killed King Jehoram with mortal effectiveness (2Kgs. 9:24). In other words, it is the primary job of every effective bow to give its arrows Distance, Direction, and Delivery. Simply put, a bow's effectiveness can only be known after launching its arrows, which is exactly what all fathers have been mandated to do with and through their sons.

We have been raised by the Lord God Almighty as Genuine sons and arrows in the Hand of the Mightiest Man of all: El Gibbor, the Lord God Almighty Himself (Ps. 127:4). Our fathers are those bows with whom the Lord launches us with Lethal Force to dismantle His enemies in the gate. On this premise, we have a Divine Obligation to remain concealed in the Quiver for the Purpose of Proper Training and Discipleship, (Isa. 49:2) being adequately prepared the same manner in which John the Baptist was "till the day of his manifestation to Israel" (Lk. 1:80b). This guarantees that we remain in Proper Alignment with our father-bows so that together we may re-establish the Father-Son Divine Order of the Lord God Almighty Himself on Earth.

PRAYER:

Heavenly Father, we magnify You for granting us the Privilege of being worthy sons and arrows in Your Hands. O Lord, please help us align with our fathers that they may launch us fully into our Prophetic Destinies in Jesus' Mighty Name. Amen.
