Shout for Joy to the Lord, all the Earth

In our today, we read from Isaiah 40:31: "But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

And just like that, Winter turned into Spring right here on the mountain. The warmer season represents a time of optimism, looking forward, and turning ideas into reality.

In Leo Tolstoy's words in Anna Karenina, “Spring is the time of plans and projects.”
It is only by His grace that we can make new plans, experience renewed energy and new beginnings.

This week, we can praise God and sing with the Psalmist in Psalm 100:1-2: "Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth."
Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs".

This morning, we woke up to the news of Dolly Parton's passing. No, she did not live on the mountain, but in distant lands.

Today we read from Romans 8:38-39: For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

This scripture brings us comfort. It speaks about God's unbreakable and absolute love.

His love is unconditional, undeserved, and unrelenting. How wonderful is the knowledge that, despite our sins, God loves us.

The lyrics of the
song "God Only Knows" by the Christian group For King & Country and Dolly Parton emphasise His unbreakable love:

"God only knows what you've been through
God only knows what they say about you
But God only knows the real you
Cause there's a kind of love that God only knows".

Rest in Eternal Peace, dear Dolly. 🤍

Joy is a Choice

Soon the trees will shed their winter emptiness, and nature will rejoice.
We already see it in the green buds on the trees and in the flowers that are starting to bloom (yes, we still may get another snowfall).

The turn of Winter into Spring is nowhere so pronounced as here on the mountain. 🌿🌹🪻

We can rejoice with the Psalmist in Psalm 118:24: "This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it."

This scripture focuses on God's love and constant care. It reminds us that each day is a gift.

Let's celebrate and find joy, praise and gratitude in our day.
