Some people understand spirituality to be about ancestors and ancestral spirits and work. That could be one way of looking at it but it is not the one and only. Certainly, that is not the focus here.

Isimemo kwabadinga ukwelekelelwa ukunciphisa ukuphuza
Mangibingelele onyakeni 2022, unyaka omusha!
Kulonyaka ngifisa kakhulu ukwelekelelana nabahlushwa luphuzo. Uma uzithola ngendlela engasakujabulisi kwawena; Uma ukuphuza kwakho kuthatha cishe wonke umholo wakho; Uma uzithola kuthiwa wenze izinto uphuzile, ongazikhumbuli kodwa uzenza; Uma kukuxabanisa nabantu kunokuba kube yithuba lokujabula nje nabangane – kusho okungahambi ngendlela ekuphuzeni kwakho. Isinyathelo sokuqala, nakanjani, ukuthi uvume ukuthi akuhambi ngendlela ukuphuza kwakho. Bese uyeza sikwelekelele! Sikwenza loku sisamndeni okhathalelanayo, nongazikhipheli ngaphandle izimfihlo zomndeni!
We will do this in a group. We will follow the Alcoholic Anonymous Twelve Steps towards recovery. So come.

Thought for the Day
Daniel 6:17-23
The king said to Daniel, “Your God, whom you have served so faithfully, will have to save you”… As he (the king) approached the pit he shouted in anguished tones, “Daniel, servant of the living God! Has your God, whom you serve so faithfully, been able to save you from the lions?” Daniel replied, “O king live forever! My God sent his angel who sealed the lions’ jaws, they did me no harm, since in his sight I am blameless…”

Daniel 5:14-16
I am told that the spirit of God Most Holy lives in you, and that you are known for your perception, intelligence and marvelous wisdom… As I am told that you are able to give interpretations and to unravel difficult problems…

Thought for the Day
Business should be fun.
Without fun, people are left wearing emotional raincoats most of their working lives. Building fun into business is vital; it brings life into our daily being.
Fun is a powerful motive for most of our activities and should be a direct path of our livelihood. We should not relegate it to something we buy after work with money we earn.
Michael Phillips

Thought for the Day
The action of the child inventing a new game with his playmates;
Einstein formulating a theory of relativity;
the housewife devising a new sauce for the meat,
a young author writing his first novel;
all of these are in terms of definition, Creative, and there is no attempt to set them in some order of more or less Creative.

Thought for the Day
Don’t cling to the ‘things of the past,’ rejecting new concepts and new challenges.
This negative mental attitude blocks the creative processes from true expression causing mental inertia, which is to live in a vacuum, to mentally wither and die on the vine.

Thought for the Day: 23rd Sunday B
Mark 7:24-30
The story portrays a series of “boundary crossings.” Jesus leaves the traditional land of Israel and goes to the region of Tyre, communities known as bitter enemies of the Jews. The woman crosses the boundaries separating Gentiles and Jews, and females and males. As a “Greek lady” she crosses the social barrier between travelling preacher and landed property owner. The woman also crosses the boundary between female submissiveness and male dominance. Jesus’ harsh words might have been expected; what was shocking was the courageous reply of the woman and Jesus’ ultimate capitulation. The liberation that was promised to the “children” was to be made available for non-Jews. Since table fellowship with Gentiles was one of the most divisive areas in early Christianity, the woman represented the Gentile perspective. The boundaries that separated Gentiles and Jews in early Christianity – and that so often involved disputes over eating – were to be broken down. The woman is the model of the outsider, who challenges readers against setting limits to those who would be called daughters and sons of God.
Believers are challenged, and called, to cross boundaries and to reach out and embrace beyond their comfort zones.
