YMG Provincial
Mothers Union Provincial Convention.
We greet you all in the wonderful name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ! It is an honour and privilege for the YMG to send it’s message of support to this great special event of the Mothers Union provincial convention.
The 2018 MU provincial convention is hosted during a very sad year for the ACC, where grief has been major to the ACC families, The MU should seek to honour, celebrate the memorials of all MU members who passed away which include the loss of Mother Canon Kolojane, Mother Priest Dladla, Mother Priest Cuntu, Mother Priest Motshwane, it has been a sad year indeed that the convention is also on the same week of the sad loss of Dean Thomas Pelo of Gauteng Diocese may his soul (return if possible).
As they would have their 2018 provincial convention at Christiana, the Mothers union should gather to remind themselves of their role and their significance to the church and the nation. We must acknowledge that they have been the strong holders and pillars of the growth of the African Catholic Church. Great teachings have always derived from the MU department to keep the church united, obedient and strong.
1 Timothy 3v 11 “In the same way, the women are to be worthy of respect, not malicious talkers but temperate and trustworthy in everything.
The speech by mother Theresa at Woman conference in Beijing has emphasised on the woman should be in a forefront to pray for all problems faced by the nation. We wish that this convention of the MU will provide a sustained profound way to always pray for the better nation. We expect the MU to gather in prayer and pray for disobediences, Unity at church, pray for respect against woman and children abuse, social illness in communities and lastly pray for our church.
The 2017 provincial synod in Hebron has again noted few elements of discrimination against woman role in the church not excluding the Gay & Le***an issue, and as YMG we have felt that proper engagement towards promoting non-gender discrimination in the church shall be part of a discussion at the convention. We hope that resolutions at the MU convention will seek to protect the reputation and the doctrine of the church. MU must engage in how a woman in the church should be part of decision-making and growth development of the church.
We support you!! Bomme ba Thapelo.
Regard
