The foundation of the New Testament is Jesus Christ

Have you ever asked yourself why the bible was divided in the Old Testament and New Testament? the word testament means agreement/will, in modern terms it would mean contract. The next questions to ask is a contract between who and who? and when and why was there a need for a new one?
I will answer those questions from the word of God but first let us establish the fact that the New Testament if founded on Jesus Christ.
Romans 5:17-20
17 For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!
18 Consequently, just as one trespass resulted in condemnation for all people, so also one righteous act resulted in justification and life for all people. 19 For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.
Take time to understand that verses. Meditate on them for some time, because that is truth(reality).
These 4 verses are very powerful and are the foundation of what we call the Gospel of Jesus they define salvation, and what righteousness is according to God through Jesus Christ.
Verse 19 says we become sinners by one man, it is easy for the religious mind to believe this one part of the verse. We are all born into sin, we are sinners by nature not because of any wrong doing but because of the transgression of Adam. This is to a level that someone will be go to hell even though they were good people and never did any wrong, if they have never made Jesus Lord of their lives. They remain sinners by nature. No amount of good works will save a person, but salvation only come by faith in Jesus Christ.
Now the latter part of the verse say we are made righteous by one man Jesus Christ. The same way we became sinner by someone is the same why we became righteous by someone and that someone is Jesus Christ. Not based on works but faith in Jesus Christ. That’s what the scripture say, if you are a born again Christian you are the righteousness of God, what does that mean ? it means 5 things , it means you are justified before God, you have the right to stand before God without any sense of guilt or condemnation , you are at peace with God, most importantly it also you have the power and ability to live right, it means you have the power over sin, you are not a slave to it but free, it means in your nature is the nature of Jesus Christ, now you need to embrace that and believe and live in that reality.
There are people who are struggling with their health while Jesus dealt with sickness and disease, same there may be those struggling with additions and habits what is the solution ? embrace the new person you are in Christ , believe who are you according to scriptures and meditate on that until you see the fruits of it manifesting. True righteousness starts with you believing who you are first in Christ and allowing that nature to produce the seeds of righteousness. God bless you! [to be continues]
PRAYER FOR SALVATION
Lord Jesus, thank you for dying for me on the Cross. I believe that God raised you from the dead on the 3rd day. Today I receive Your Life. I make you my Lord and my saviour. Fill me with your Spirit to overflow. I thank you that I am born again. Amen!
