Ephesians 6:11-12 NIV
[11] Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.
[12] For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
When God wanted to bring us closer to himself after we fell away because of sin. He sent his son to die for us so that the punishment of sin which we deserve cannot hold us prisoners in hell.
When the devil wanted us to be like him, he targeted our feelings, desires and emotions. He knows that the flesh is more vulnerable and can be easily manipulated.
That's why we always need the full armour of God to protect us. Our flesh is too weak to carry the light of God all on its own. We will stumble and start to second guess our purpose.
Everyone is a sinner in the eyes of the Lord and no amount of good deeds could ever be counted as righteous.
God is more interested in a person that willingly opens their heart to Him, regardless of how wicked it may be inside.
Because righteousness can only be achieved through Christ Jesus. Only his presence in our lives makes us children of God.
Dear Lord Father God, we come before you with open hearts. We acknowledge our sins and how far we have fallen from you, yet your mercy and kindness is still knocking on the door of our hearts, pleading to enter.
There is nothing special that we have to offer you except our shortcomings and the strongholds that the devil has placed in us. We thank you for sending your son to redeem us and renew us in the image which represents your heavenly throne.
May we never forget this gift of Love which you have shown us in times of self doubt. Thank you for everything, in Christ Jesus name, Amen.
