The story of Jonah best demonstrates how God, despite our failings, always gives us SECOND CHANCES.
God sent Jonah to preach repentance to the people of Nineveh. However, Jonah run away from God’s will--in the process going a wrong path.
God could have let Jonah go his own way, but He loved Jonah too much to allow him to remain on the wrong path. In fact, God even went out of His way and caused a storm just to get His child back.
Eventually, Jonah was thrown overboard and swallowed by a huge fish. From inside the fish, he repented and by God’s command, the fish spit Jonah out.
Now hear this ...
After being spit out, God could have just forgiven Jonah and that could have been the end of the story. However, God gave Jonah a SECOND CHANCE to preach repentance to the city of Nineveh.
Brethren, our God is a God of SECOND CHANCES. Never get stuck in your failings. If you seek and return to Him with repentance, He will, just like Jonah, give you a SECOND CHANCE.
