Diocese of George Mothers Union

Diocese of George Mothers Union Mothers Union is a world wide Christian organization that aims to demonstrate the Christian faith in action through the transformation of communities

Our aims and objectives are:

To promote and support married life;
To encourage parents in their role to develop the faith of their children;
To maintain a worldwide fellowship of Christians united in prayer, worship and service,
To promote conditions in society favorable to stable family life and the protection of children;
To help those whose family life has met with adversity

Our membership

O

ur members are not all mothers, or even all women. They are single, married, parents, grandparents, or young adults just beginning to express their social conscience. Mothers' Union provides, for all four million members, a network through which they can serve Christ in their own community - through prayer, financial support and actively working at the grassroots level in programmes that meet local needs.

"Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favour with God. You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus.
“I am the Lord's servant,” Mary answered. “May it be to me as you have said.” Luke 1: 30-31, 38

The Feast of the Annunciation (25 March) is a special day of prayer and thanksgiving for the Mothers’ Union worldwide. Lady Day, as it is also known was held on Saturday in the Parish of St Matthews, Beaufort West. Mothers traveled from across the Diocese to attend Lady Day and it was such a blessed day to spend time with the members. A heartfelt thank you to Rev Joanne Claassen and her parish for hosting a very successful Lady Day. Our gratitude also goes to the Clergy & their Spouses, as well as the Anglican Women's Fellowship Diocesan President, for their support on this special day

As part of our GBV awareness campaign, the MU members held a picket, highlighting the devastating effects of domestic violence on families.

We are grateful that everyone safely returned home after Lady Day and thank God for traveling mercies. Until next time, be blessed.
