RE: Tsietsi Mashinini Bursary Fund Comrades Marathon 2026 – Call for Runners

The Tsietsi Mashinini Bursary Fund, an initiative of the Methodist Children and Youth Unit of the Methodist Church of Southern Africa, is preparing for its Comrades Marathon 2026 Fundraising Campaign scheduled for 14 June 2026.

The purpose of this campaign is to raise funds in support of youth bursaries, while also creating awareness of the Fund and its mission to empower young people through education. Since its launch in 2025, the campaign attracted a total of 40 Methodist runners and managed to raise has R56 674, demonstrating the meaningful impact of this initiative.

We are therefore inviting interested runners to join this campaign as fundraising ambassadors. Participants will not only represent a meaningful cause during the Comrades Marathon but will also help mobilise support for the Fund through their networks and communities.

Attached herewith is the campaign poster calling for runners to be part of this initiative. We kindly request your support in sharing this call within your structures and networks to help us reach potential participants.

The closing date for expressions of interest is 30 April 2026.
