Spies sent into Canaan- WHO AM I SERMON

Human beings are defined by a sense of personality, experiences and reason. We are often included to believe that the face we see in the mirror is us. Here the body is merely a tool for the true self, the mind. It is however an error to conclude that the body is not significant to selfhood. Without a body a mind would not be able to make certain types of judgment.

Numbers 13

The LORD spoke to Moses, saying ² "Send men to spy out the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the people of Israel. From each tribe of their fathers you shall send a man, every one a chief among them.


This is what the Israelite did. When ten of the spies came back from the Promise land, they saw:
¶ How huge their opponents
They said to Moses, "We were in our own sights as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.


° People see you the way you see yourself.
° If you don't get along with yourself, you'll never get along with others.
° We all have weaknesses, shortcomings, things that we wish were different. But God never designed us to go through life against ourselves.

° If you quit focusing on flaws and everything you wish was different.
° Quit comparing yourself.
° Be proud of who God made you to be.

If you know what your life work is , start working on it.

Have time to work on you .
Fear kills dreams
Fear kills hope
Fear put people in the hospital
Fear can hold you back from doing something you know than yourself you are capable of doing it
Fear can parralise you

What is the benefits of allowing fear to hold you back?
What is the benefit of giving up on yourself?

You're going to make some mistakes
You can hurt some folk feelings
You can create some enemies

Ask yourself... How long am I going to allow this hold me back?
