Re: Invitation to All Saints Sunday Service
Dear Friends in Christ
Grace and Peace of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ be with us all!
“And there was a great crowd that no one could number. They were from every nation, tribe, people, and language. They were standing before the throne and before the Lamb.” —Revelation 7:9,
Historically, the church has confessed a belief in the “communion of the saints,” which includes not only all living believers but also all who have gone before us. When we celebrate Holy Communion, we experience the communion of saints, feasting with believers past, present and future. The author of Hebrews 12 (CEB) reminds us that these saints, a “great cloud of witnesses,” surround us and cheer us on.
On All Saints’ Day, Methodists publicly remember and honor those who have passed away .
Celebrated on the first Sunday in November, many congregations light candles, members dedicate flowers in memory of their loved ones who have died , also a photo slide show with photos and names of our loved ones who have died , this is done as a way of honoring the impact their lives have had on us. Even in death we continue to show love to them.
This coming Sunday it will be all Saints Sunday Service and Holy Communion , I extend an invitation to all members of the congregation, if you feel moved by the Spirit that we remember your loved one who has died , be it your mum, dad, children, siblings , close friend you can please send the photo of the person to be remembered and full names , to Sandra: +27 82 8702919/ [email protected], this to be done by Thursday evening . On Sunday during our worship service we will a slide show playing with all the photos and names of our loved ones who have died.
If you want to dedicate flowers this coming Sunday, in memory of your loved ones, you can do so, and please do drop Sandra a message so that , we can mention in our notices the flowers were donated in memory of whom. Lastly our Garden of Remembrance will be opened on Sunday by 8am ,throughout the day to spend time in the Garden to remember your loved ones especially those whose ashes were Intermittent in our Garden of Remembrance.
Please do invite friends and family to accompany you for this special service of All Saints Service. After Service we will have Fellowship Tea and Eats .
Kind Regards
Rev. Phezile Koekoe
