Good evening Brothers and Sisters ❤️
Tonight's Bible study:
*Trials are a blessing not a curse*
1 Peter 1:6-7
"In this you greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ."
Trials refer generally to tough times in our lives, maybe sickness, death, financial, sin, etc. Any event that interrupts our lives in a way that brings pain, sadness and anxiety. These trials when they come and they will come, they are not enjoyable at all.
But Peter in this verse, takes our focus away from the trial, to the purpose of the trial. He first reminds us in verse 1-5 that we have been abundantly blessed by God and it is in that abundant blessing, that we need to rejoice, even though we go through trials.
He also tells us that we as Christians rejoice in our spiritual blessings even though for a little while, if necessary, we may go through trials.
This tells us two things about trials, trials are necessary and trials are not forever. Why are trials necessary? They are necessary because, at the end of the trial, when we realize how strong our faith is that God has given us, this results in us praising and glorifying and honoring God at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
God knows how much faith He has given us and how genuine and strong that faith is, but through trials, God reveals that to us as well, and that results in praise, honor and glory all to our God. So, if you are going through trials right now or the next time you go through trials, remember that those trials are allowed by our Father in your life for His glory and for your own good. Don’t focus solely on the trial but focus mostly on the one who is working in you through that trial!
For His glory always
Blessings WBC Family to yours
