Rest isn’t a fixed destination, it’s a state we must intentionally enter and remain in.
Hebrews 4:9-13
Scripture shows that entering God’s rest requires effort, not striving in our own strength, but aligning ourselves with Him daily.
In Joshua 7, Achan’s hidden sin didn’t just affect him, it disrupted the entire mission of Israel. The promise of rest and victory was delayed because of what was concealed.
What is hidden can hinder what God wants to do openly because It wasn’t until the sin was exposed and removed that progress was restored.
Back to Hebrews, God’s Word is described as a living, active sword. It doesn’t just comfort, it cuts. It reveals, corrects, and purifies.
Therefore, we cannot fully enter God’s rest while holding onto what He’s trying to remove.
This is a call to let God refine us, allowing His Word to cut away what doesn’t belong, so we can walk in the rest He has already prepared.
What is one thing you can deliberately cut off daily to remain in God’s rest with peace and love?
