After 2 years and 81 sermons, we've finished the Gospel of John. What an incredible and enlightening journey. We've been edified, challenged, and changed along the way. Even in these final verses.

Where next? Well, join us Edenvale Community Church on Sundays at 09:30 at Hurlyvale Primary School to find out.

Do you love me? Then follow me! - John 21:15-19
https://edenvale.church/sermons/do-you-love-me-then-follow-me/

We live in a world that has forgotten what it means to follow. Today it's just a matter of clicking a button, which we can just as easily click to unfollow.

It's also easy to say or sing that one loves Jesus and not really mean it.

When Jesus restores Peter, He does so not just to make him feel better, but to prepare him for the work that is to come. Here we see that as Peter's love is examined, Jesus reveals that love is expressed in service to others and that it is evidenced in sacrifice.

Peace Be with You (John 20:19-23)
https://edenvale.church/sermons/peace-be-with-you/

In John 20, Jesus steps into a room filled with disciples who are wrestling with their own fears and uncertainties.

The tomb is empty, but their hearts are still locked up. Then suddenly, Jesus appears—not with judgment, not with instructions—but with peace.

Today, we the church, need exactly what those disciples received: the peace of Christ, the power of the Spirit, and a renewed sense of purpose. Because Jesus didn’t just appear to calm them—He came to send them.

Join us at Edenvale Community Church this Sunday at 09h30 at Hurlyvale Primary School as we continue our journey through the Gospel of John as Jesus confronts Thomas and his unbelief.

Hope Resurrected (John 20:1-10)
https://edenvale.church/sermons/hope-resurrected/
What they saw.
What they assumed.
What they believed.

Let the resurrection shape your thinking, guide your actions, and fuel your witness. Let us live as people who know that death has been defeated, that sin has been forgiven, and that eternal life is ours through faith in the risen Lord. May the power of the resurrection be at work in you, transforming you more and more into the likeness of Christ. May you proclaim the Good News of the risen Saviour to a world that so desperately needs to hear it. And may we all live in the confident hope of that day when we, too, will be raised to new life, to be with our Lord for eternity.

Join us every Sunday at Edenvale Community Church at 09:30 for family worship.

Behold your King! (John 19:1-16a)
https://edenvale.church/sermons/behold-your-king/

We continue our journey to the cross, we witness Pilate presenting Jesus as the king of the Jews to the nation. This passage is full of irony, but none so great as that of the Jewish leaders rejecting Jesus as their king, accusing Him of blasphemy, to rather hail Caesar as king, turning their backs on God.

How do you respond when Jesus is presented before you as King?

Join us this Sunday at Edenvale Community Church at 09h30 as we witness the King's crucifixion in preparation for the Easter weekend.
