Cleopas and his companion encounter Jesus on the road, and he is revealed to him in the breaking of bread. On Easter Day, many of us join together with family and friends to enjoy a sumptuous meal. On this Sunday, we ask, what is is that God eats for dinner on Easter Day, and what does that mean for us today?

This Sunday we lay out a biblical case for joy — not a shallow joy, not a temporary thrill, but a deep, sustaining joy worthy of our pursuit.
We believe the greatest happiness, peace, and joy you could ever experience is found in relationship with Jesus Christ. Everything else is a cheap substitute. Nothing in this world was designed to satisfy your soul — it was designed to point you to the One who can.

Join us on Sunday for Week of our series “Inside Out”. Do you know anyone who’s a little angry these days?

It feels like we’re living in one of the angriest seasons of our lifetime. Social media rages. News cycles inflame. Everything is politicized. Everything is controversial. And if we’re honest, it’s not just “out there.” It’s in here.
Some of us are easily agitated. Some are carrying resentment. Some are quietly simmering. The question isn’t whether anger exists — it’s what we do with it.
When we think of Jesus, we think of love, compassion, grace, and mercy. But Scripture is clear: Jesus also got angry.

The question is not, “Should Christians ever be angry?”
The question is, “How can we be angry like Jesus?”

When anxiety shows up, especially as a Christian, the questions follow:
• Did I fail God?
• Am I lacking faith?
• Is it a sin to feel anxious?
Let me say this clearly: It is not a sin to feel anxious.
Anxiety, like anger, is not automatically sin. But if we let it lead us, it can take us places we don’t want to go.
The good news? Even Jesus experienced deep distress. And in Mark 14, in the Garden of Gethsemane, we see exactly how He handled it. In Phil 4, Paul tells us what we need to do.

Joy. Sadness. Anger. Compassion. God has given each of us the capacity to feel deeply. And when we can better process our powerful emotions, we can start to understand how He will use them for His good.

Jesus wept. It’s the shortest sentence in the Bible but it reveals so much about who Jesus was. He was not aloof, or distant from the people he met. He was present. He wept. He felt…deeply. The Bible shows us many examples of Jesus’s emotions: love, compassion, righteous anger, sadness, and more. In this series, we’ll look at how Jesus processed emotions and how following His example can help us see how our own emotions can be used to fulfil God’s purpose in our lives.

Join us tomorrow for the last in our series, entitled "FromConsumer to Contributor.Every rand in your pocket or bank account comes from God. We are all called to steward our money generously by investing it in what will outlast us. In the Bible, we’re encouraged to be wise with our money and use what we have to make an impact upon eternity and how you spend your money matters. As has been shared throughout this series, all you have is a gift from God. Your money is one of those gifts. Whether you have a lot or a little, God expects you to generously invest what you have for eternal good. How you spend your money is the barometer of your heart

All of us have been given gifts and talents to serve Jesus and his church. Just as we are to be good stewards of our resources and our time, God expects us to use our talents to do his work in the world. As we’re obedient to do our best with what we’ve been given, the Lord may enable and multiply our work. We all have a hunger inside of us to make a difference in the world around us. Too often we think about our contribution as something extra we do in the world. But our talents and abilities are gifts God gives for us to steward. Stewarding our gifts is one of the great privileges and responsibilities of the Christian life.
