"Abishegam is the -ritual of pouring water or other sacred substances on a statue of a deity while also chanting mantras. It is akin to puja, another Sanskrit word that means “worship.” The principle behind abhishekam is total surrender to and love of the deity. It is believed that by bathing the statue, or murthi, the devotees cleanse and purify their own minds.
The temple is inviting devotees to participate in this auspicious ritual during the 10 days of Thai-Poosam. Abishegam will be conducted daily at 06:00 am. Should you wish to participate in in this auspicious offering, kindly contact Rajan Govender or Previan Naicker.
